Liars Like Us by J.T. Geissinger: Emery Eastwood will do just about anything to make sure that her fathers bookstore stays afloat, but after a string of rather unfortunate events Emery can’t help but worry that it might finally be time to call it quites especially seeing as the huge chain store that has moved in next door to her is drawing away all of her customers. It would seem that all hope is well and truly lost, that is until billionaire media mogul Callum McCord walks into her life and makes her an offer that she can not refuse. It was all supposed to be a simple deal; agree to marry him and he will save her business, the only problem is Emery is starting to fall in love with her husband… could these two have a story book ending or will it just be a grim tale?

Liars Like Us was incredible! I am a huge fan of the fake turned real, opposites attract, marriage of convenience tropes and this book delivers on this in buckets! Firstly I have to take a moment to appreciate Geissenger’s incredible writing style and how easy it was to get lost in this book. I loved the fact that this was not so much a dark read but a darkish read, so definitely fitting to be call the Morally Grey Series.

Emery was great, I loved our leading lady to bit. She was sassy, smart, caring and a super relatable character. I really liked that she wanted to do everything in her power to keep the bookstore open, not only for her parents legacy but also because she cared about her staff. We really got to experience all the emotions along side her as the story progressed and I really liked the way she handled everything sent her way. As for our hero Callum well he was a growly, possessive alpha and I just loved the fact that he kept us in suspense right until the end. I think Callum was easily one of Geissenger’s most complex characters to date, this guy had so much going on but his obsession with Emery neve once wavered.

“how do you tell the stranger you married for his money that he’s becoming your center of gravity?”

The passion and fire between Emery and Callum was incredible! These two sparked of each other in the best way possible with all that banter and tension. Most of all I loved the fact that Emery never backed down from telling Callum exactly what she thought. The physical chemistry between these two was everdent right from the very first meeting and this only grew as they spent time together, as for the emotional bond, well that was just something else all on its own.

Liars Like Us is a total must read, this book sets the tone for what is looking to be one steamy hot, dark series that I can not wait to read!
