Little Secret, Red Hot Scandal by Cat Schield: It would seem the harder you try and hide something the bigger the explosion when it finally comes out.

Mia Navarro was learning that the hard way. No matter how hard she tried to keep her love under wraps it was just not going to happen. She couldn’t quite keep it out of her looks, her touches, her being. Someone was going to find out, she was in love with Nate Tucker.

Nate Tucker knew what and who he wanted. Mia was it, she was the one he was supposed to have, he was sure of it. The problem was going to be convincing Mia that she was the one and that it was okay for her to be worried about her own happiness for once. Was he ever going to be able to do that?

Not exactly star crossed lovers, but Mia and Nate just can’t seem to figure out how to continue with their lives and be together. Something or someone is just going to have to give. In the long run though, they will both learn that it is truly all about the journey.

Ms. Schield has given her readers an interesting novel. The plot is a little Cinderella light with a touch of money thrown in. The characters are well scripted and have interesting quirks thrown in. While there isn’t a lot to make you not want to put down the book, you will enjoy the over arching theme and want to know the ending. This is a sweet tale designed to show the reader that it is okay to think about and stand up for yourself. There are happily ever afters even when you are no longer focused on everyone else.
