More Than a Convenient Bride by Michelle Celmer is the sixth part in the Texas Cattleman’s More-Than-a-Convenient-BrideClub: After the Storm series and can be easily read as a standalone.

Dr. Lucas Wakefield decides to marry his best friend, Julie Kingston to prevent her deportation after her visa expires but what starts as a platonic arrangement quickly blooms into red-hot desire until Luc’s ex-fiance returns to reclaim her man and Julie questions whether happily-ever-after is in the cards. Good thing Luc has no intention of giving up his passionate new bride without a fight!

More Than a Convenient Bride by Michelle Celmer is a well written friends to lovers romance with likable characters. I liked the story line and enjoyed reading the interesting ways the author bought the main characters together.

Lucas and Julie are both likable characters and being best friends, they share a comfortable chemistry with each other. They were better suited as best friends in my opinion because I generally look for I-will-tear-your-clothes-off chemistry between my leads. Strong emotional connection works for me too but the story failed to convey why Luc and Julie were better suited as lovers. The conflict, too was not that solid as I expected with Luc’s ex-fiance coming back.

More Than a Convenient Bride was a simple romance between two people who come together due to a set of circumstances and slowly fall in love with each other. Not much obstacle, but overall a nice read. If you love the author than you should probably go for this one.

Thanks for the review, Ipshita. I’ve liked all the ‘TCC: After The Storm’ books I’ve read so far, so I’ll probably be getting this one.
