Mr. Charming by Piper Rayne: The last thing anyone wants is to work with their ex, especially when said ex has always felt like the one that got away. This is however the new reality for social media manager to the stars Tedi, seeing as her newest client is none other than the one man that broke her heart, NHL hotshot Tweetie. With Tedi now managing the Falcones socials, she has no choice but to face her biggest heartbreak on the daily, the biggest problem with this being just maybe she isn’t as quite over Tweetie as she had hoped to be… With old sparks flying, secrets come to light and as the past and present collide, Tweetie and Tedi must decide if love is worth a second shot or if some wounds are too deep to heal…

I am such a sucker for a sports romance, truly this trope has fast become one of my guilty pleasures, especially when authors like Rayne give us books like Mr Charming! I just loved the soft blend of slow burn second chance love story with all the angst and pinning that happened between our two main characters. One of the things that I love about reading a book by Rayne is the fact that she always delivers a layered read, like in this we get so much more than just a cute romance, we get to see the redemption of our hero and all the messy feelings and growth that come with truly giving love a second chance.

Okay I am going to be honest, at first I was not Tweetie’s biggest fan, but gosh as we got to know our hero, I just couldn’t help but love the big guy. I think getting to know his inner thoughts and how deeply effected he was by his actions through his journal entries made loving his character so easy. Truly Tweetie was so much more than this amazing hockey star, he was genuinely a guy trying to be his best self, facing hurdles and challenges. Now for our leading lady, Tedi, well she was a girl boss powerhouse and I loved this about her character. She prides herself on her professionalism and how determined she is when it comes to work, we really get to see her embrace her strengths. Though this does not take away from her reluctance to trust interpersonal relationships, her past pain especially when it comes to her relationship with Tweetie has really scared her. I will say that I really did like getting to see her try to lower her walls and give trusting Tweetie another chance even though it freaked her out.

Tweetie and Tedi’s journey was filled with past pain, angst, lingering feelings and a whole lot of tension. I loved the fact that these two really had no choice but to face their past head on now that they are working together and the fact that their feelings for each other was so clearly still alive and bubbling. Though the road to forgiveness was not easy and we really get to see Tweetie work to prove to Tedi that he is remorseful and that he regrets his past actions, I have to say Tweetie really melted my heart was we got to read his journal entires that outlined his feelings for Tedi, this guy clearly never stopped loving his girl.

Mr Charming was so much more than just a sports romance, this book was filled with heart, high emotions and a deeply moving story of two people choosing to fall in love with each other all over again. I just adored reading this book and definitely recommend adding it to your TBR!

Three years ago, I swore to myself we were done.

Since then, Tweetie Sorenson has embraced the professional hockey player bachelor lifestyle—his social media is a highlight reel of clubs, friends, and a never-ending stream of different women.

It’s hard to believe he’s the same man who stole my heart the very night we met. With him, everything felt wild, spontaneous, and absolutely perfect. I thought he was my forever.

Then, he broke my heart. Or maybe we broke each other’s. Either way, it was over.

I’ve moved on—new city, dream job—until my boss throws me back into Tweetie’s world. I’m sent to Chicago to manage the Falcons’ social media, which means working alongside the one man I never truly let go of. FML.
