Panicked Harper calls Jack and begs him to come to the hospital quick. Jack, who is unable to forget that magical night with Harper nine months ago, drops everything. The call surprises him but he rushes hospital expecting the worst. A baby is the absolute last thing he expects.
I really liked Jack, he was determined to be the best Dad from the second he found out about his daughter (I loved the sex was a surprise). He was really enjoyable to read and the roadblocks the author threw at both of them was dealt with well. Harper also has never forgotten Jack and babies were the last thing on her mind so she was a complex character that added layers to the story. The last thing Harper wants to do is accept Jack’s proposal and I feel this side of her was explained well.
From the impeding delivery to the suggested solutions and complicated relationship Harper and Jack have I admire Melanie Milburne’s story telling. There is the warmness Melanie creates in her books; along with the humour and complex issues. It’s a very well done addition to the series and can be a stand alone too.
Nine Months After That Night is a fresh version of the unexpected baby trope delivered with poise, humour and heart warming passion.
