One Week with the French Tycoon by Christy McKellen
Both Julien and Indigo went on the Amalfi coast hike for a little solitude and healing, but when they keep being thrown together, being alone becomes the last thing they want.
Julien just signed the divorce papers on a bad marriage, one he feels he failed in, and now he doesn’t trust himself in a relationship. As Julien tries to ignore Indigo, and their attraction, she won’t exactly let him. Always putting others first, Indigo wants to help the man she sees is hurting.
As they help one another travel the coast, and with each other’s romantic woes, they fall harder and harder. But can they ever trust they’ll be enough for the other?
He ignored her exasperated sigh as he ushered her through the door and into the wonderfully cool air-conditioned interior.
She stopped dead just inside the shop and turned to give him a withering look. ‘Julien, I told you, I can’t afford to buy new boots right now.’
‘I heard you. But you’re not buying them. I am.’
Their romance developed on a long path, and I loved it. Both Julien and Indigo wanted to ignore their attraction, but the more they were thrown together the more they couldn’t. And despite the cheesiness, it is always amusing how the characters somehow keep running into one another, and you see them be annoyed and elated.
Their conflicts felt real, and it was a great slow build as Julien went from angry and closed off to seeking out Indigo’s company on his own. And Indigo is really such a sweetheart, always wanting the best for others. I loved seeing these two together, with their very opposite views on romance.
For fans of travel reads, I recommend One Week with the French Tycoon. I really enjoyed going through the different areas on the hike, and it is definitely a fun way to set a romance.
