Promise Me Forever by Layla Hagen: As far as Tate is concerned the most important person in his life is and always will be his little girl. There is nothing that Tate wouldn’t do to ensure Paisley’s happiness, which is why he is working so hard to make Maxwell Wineries for many years to come. However building this empire is taking away vital time that is leaving Paisley alone, after having her mother running out on them the last thing Tate wants is to leave his daughter wanting for attention. Which is how Tate finds himself hiring Paisley a nanny, however the last thing Tate expected was to find himself so drawn to this woman that brings his daughter so much joy or for Lexi to fit into their lives so seamlessly.
With summer break around the corner and her family needing a bit of help elementary school teacher Lexi decides to apply for a job as a nanny, after all this would be the perfect way to help her family while still doing something she loves. However the last thing Lexi expected when she got hired by big businessman Tate Maxwell was to find herself so captivated by not only the beautiful little girl Paisley but also her doting father and the rest of their crazy close nit family. Soon Lexi finds that what started of as a summer job is starting to turn into a whole lot more.
“I was losing my mind. This was the only explanation I could find. I couldn’t take my eyes off her. I barely kept my hands to myself.”
LOVED! Firstly let me start by saying I love reading books by Layla Hagen, this lady really knows what she is doing and boy does she do it well! I can easily say that Promise Me Forever has to be hands down my favorite book by her to date! I absolutely ate this book up! This was just the type of book that you do not want to put down. Im a total sucker for a hot single dad romance and this is exactly what we get from Promise Me Forever, emphasise on the HOT part! Also can we please take a moment to note how hot this cover is? Talk about setting the tone right from the get go!
“His presence didn’t feel magnetic right now but almost dangerous. Like if I stayed too close to him for too long, I might lose myself.”
Gosh Tate was just the perfect hero, I loved his clear and unquestioned devotion to his daughter and that he was genuinely an all round good guy. I loved that he took such great care to find the perfect nanny for Paisley and that he had all these rules that he lived by, but gosh did Lexi send those rules right out of the window. The connection between Tate and Lexi was steamy hot, right from their first meeting I loved the chemistry between them.
“I like you, Lexi, far too much, and I don’t know what to do about it.”
As for our leading lady, Lexi was such a cute character. There was pretty much nothing that I did not love about her, right from the connection that she had with her own family to the one that she built with Tate, Paisley and the rest of the Maxwells. The thing that really made this book standout from other books in this trope was that unlike most nanny romances Lexi actually took the time to plan exciting and educational activities to do with Paisley, and everything wasn’t solely focused on her relationship with Tate.
One of my favorite things about this book was that family played such a huge role throughout the novel. I really liked that Lexi took the time and effort to bond and connect with not only Paisley but the rest of the Maxwell clan. It was also nice that her own family played such a big role. Layla Hagen has once again create the perfect romance escape while loading in the steam, laughs and swoon. If you like a cute romance mixed in with loads of steam then Promise Me Forever is a definite must read!

As a divorced single father, I live by three rules:
1. Make sure every day my daughter, Paisley, knows she’s number one in my life. No. Matter. What.
2. Keep contact with my cheating ex-wife to a minimum.
3. Turn Maxwell Wineries into a legacy that keeps Paisley set for life.
When I hire Lexi to look after my daughter, I realize I need another rule: don’t pursue Paisley’s nanny.
But even if I had that rule it wouldn’t matter. Because I’m breaking it already.
