Proof of Their One Hot Night by is so enjoyable and there’s so much to love, I’ve read it twice.
The night Calandra and Alejandro finally do something about their years of mutual attraction could be the start of something amazing. It certainly was the start of an amazing story. But alas, where is the fun in that? Vanishing into thin air, my heart was in my throat for Calandra when she re-appears at Alejandro’s brother’s engagement party. Not wanting to, but knowing it’s the right thing to do, Calandra shares the consequence of their incredibly, amazing night with Alejandro which turns the wheel into motion of him proving he’s not the carefree playboy the world has him painted as, but serious father material.
I absolutely loved Calandra and Alejandro. They were written so well I felt I had front row seats to every twist and turn and every emotion and pain felt by both. I loved how Alejandro was written, how he is absolutely not who he presents to the world. I loved Calandra’s serious and professional approach to her worklife and I felt her sinking when she abandoned her boss, Alejandro’s brother. I loved their trip to Paris and I loved the heart felt emotion that dripped from the pages.
Emmy Grayson has captured everything I love about HP’s. I love HP’s where there is no mucking about and it jumps straight into the action! I love HP’s where the drama, emotion and dialogue are edge of the seat material. I love HP’s where the Hero meets the definition of consummate uncaring fun-loving Playboy but he finally meets his match, while he doesn’t admit he’s been caught hook, line and sinker, I as the reader, whole-heartedly barracks loudly for his success in catching his love.
I feel like Proof of their One Hot Night is an example of how my mere mortal words just don’t do the story justice. All I can try and do is share how it made me feel. I really enjoyed book 1, but thought book 2 was next level. I loved the way Emmy Grayson has captured the world, the characters, the feelings and the rocky road to love.
