Remember Me at Willoughby Close by Kate Hewitt: Allison Neale decides to move to Wychwood-on-Lea a year after her husband’s death. Not only is she still dealing with her grief and the aftermath, but her two children are struggling.
They move into #3 cottage of Willoughby Close. These cottages are near a big manor house. Allison hopes they will all adjust to the small, but cozy place.
Her daughter is still terribly unhappy and Allison tries to help her deal with her depression. Her son is doing a little better and seems to enjoy his new school. Allison is nervous when she gets a call from his school, but it turns out one of his teacher’s, James Larribee, wants him to start a club based on the game Mine Craft.
James is very handsome and charming and Allison makes the mistake of sending a text to him accidentally, instead of her best friend. James becomes more of her life as he helps her son. The only problem is he is 10 years younger than Allison. Will that age difference be a dealbreaker when it comes to a relationship or can love conquer all?
The author slowly reveals how James came to be teaching in this more rural area. He has dealt with lots of issues in both love and family dynamics. He is a very caring man whom the reader will certainly love.
Allison is a shown as a good mother. She feels guilty that she is angry about her late husband’s death. I can understand why she is hesitant to get involved with a much younger man. Age is sometimes a problem, but if people have common interests and are open, it can certainly work.
This is the fourth novel in the Return To Willoughby series. I have truly loved them all. This fourth book is perhaps my favorite because I felt even more emotionally engaged. You could read this tale on its on, but you would miss the full flavor of the various stories. Characters from the previous books are mentioned in this one, but you will feel more connected if you know their backgrounds.
The return to the setting of the Cotswolds gave me the feeling on going home, even though I have never been there. It’s on my bucket list. This novel and the other in this heartwarming, sweet romance series will bring an uplifting of your spirit.
The epilogue left open the possibility of more adventures at Willoughby Close. I certainly look forward to them.

Welcome back to Willoughby Close, with four new residents and happy endings to deliver…
Allison Neale is grieving. A year after her beloved husband’s death, she’s still left with far too many questions and is struggling with feelings of guilt, anger and grief. Hoping to rebuild her and her children’s lives, she moves to Wychwood-on-Lea with her two troubled kids—an eleven-year-old son with too much energy and a fourteen-year-old daughter flirting with the same depression that afflicted her father.
The warm community of women who have lived in Willoughby Close welcome her with open arms, and their friendship helps Allison find a semblance of peace. But when an entirely unexpected attraction to her son’s teacher, James Larribee, emerges after he gets into trouble, Allison is gobsmacked. James is charming, funny and ten years younger than her. Basically, completely unsuitable. Besides, her husband Patrick was her soulmate…wasn’t he?
As revelations about everything she once held dear surface, Allison wonders if she is reckless or maybe just brave enough to try for love a second time.
