Reunited by the Greek’s Vows by Andie Brock is a passionate and enjoyable second chance romance.

When Nikos and Kate met in Crete several years ago, their circumstances were much different than they are now. Kate was relishing time away from her family business, Kandy Kate, a well known confectionery company. Meeting waiter Nikos and having a whirlwind romance with him was a fun way to spend the summer, but when real life intruded, their relationship fell apart with acrimony and bitterness.

Years later, Kate’s business is in danger of going under, and she needs investors to pull the company back up to speed. Nikos needs a wife, to ensure he’ll be granted guardianship of a friend’s sister. In the intervening years, he’s made his fortune and he’s ready for a hostile takeover of Kandy Kate or a wedding – Kate’s choice. Is this their second chance to get things right?

I enjoyed this romance. It starts with a bit of a revenge theme, as Nikos basically blackmails Kate into marriage and his anger and bitterness over their breakup (but mostly over Kate’s lack of trust in him) is what drives him. Kate has no choice but to marry him to save her family company and all the employees’ jobs. Having Nikos’s money stabilize the company will enable her to get new investors. If it comes at a personal cost, she’s willing to pay it, as a sort of penance for keeping secrets from Nikos when they first met.

From their initial wariness though comes the ability to open up and share their feelings and their personal backgrounds to better understand and accept the mistakes they both made the first time around. Gaining Nikos’s trust is the hardest part, and he persists in keeping her at arm’s length even when they start to sleep together again, sharing some passionate nights but still keeping each others hearts at a distance. Convincing the authorities that they are happily married in order to gain guardianship of Nikos’s deceased friend’s sister isn’t hard, but keeping themselves from caring from each other again is trickier. Of course, they don’t succeed and end up falling in love again, but this time will all their secrets laid bare. With highlights of some of Europe’s well known cities as Kate and Nikos reconnect, it’s an enjoyable, sexy romance.
