REVIEW: Scared Sexy Collection

The SCARED SEXY COLLECTION has six perfectly bite-sized stories for lovers of paranormal or Halloween themed romances. And the list of authors included is phenomenal: Ali Hazelwood, Christina Lauren, J.T. Geissinger, Ruby Dixon, Katee Robert, and Kimberly Lemming. I mean, how can you go wrong with *any* of those stories, right? Whether you end up reading them over time or flying through them all in one or two sittings, I think readers will have a fun time and find something in each offering that will hit home.

“I might not remember my name, or anything about who I am. But I could never be near you and not know exactly what you are to me.”

There was a wide variety of beings, plots, and settings in the six short stories here. While I can’t seem to pick a favorite as I had fun with them all, the ones that really captured my imagination were Geissinger’s enemies to lovers in Spicy Little Curses–and its New Orleans vibe–and the main characters’ centuries of backstory in Ali Hazelwood’s Hot for Slayer.

I loved that each romance fit so well into the collection, no matter how different they appeared to be at face value. And while they all left me wanting more time with each couple, it was great to get time with the authors’ writing styles and be in those worlds they created for a short time.

“What are you?”
Brigan stilled. Not who, but what. He rocked back on his heels, swallowing his shock, and raised an eyebrow. “That’s an odd question, Catalina.”
“But the right one,” she said steadily.

If you’re someone who likes alien or space romances, Ruby Dixon’s Space Vampire was honestly a sweet one that somehow had a cozy feel to it thanks to the protective, caring relationship the main characters had.

Christina Lauren’s Falling had the mix of heat and humor that I adore in their books along with great banter. Beautiful Nightmare might have been the most unique one to me as I would expect from Katee Robert’s vivid imagination. She included all the sexy times and diverse cast that make her stories stand out.

And last but not least was Kimberly Lemming’s My Boyfriends Are All Monsters. I’m new to her work but between the funny, charming heroine and the unique storyline centered around granting a wish, I know I’ll be checking out her other books soon.

QOTD: Have you read any of the authors in this collection? Any of the stories you’re looking forward to?

QOTD: Have you read any of the authors in this collection? Any of the stories you’re looking forward to? I’ve read books by all but 1 author.
