Second Chance with His Cinderella by Kandy Shepherd: Kitty Clements now works with her partner in the business they 
have named People Who Pack aka PWP. She once used her full name Kathryn when she worked for a PR firm. Due to a blame the victim mess and being “thrown under the bus’ by her live in boyfriend, she now has to live an incognito life. PWP caters to the upperclass people in London who need to have discreet, careful packers. Their current client Sebastian Delfont is leaving his large, somewhat sterile looking flat to the ancestral home of his family.
Sebastian comes off as a bit obsessed and seemingly difficult client because he insists things from his library be put in precise order between the two homes. Kitty realizes there is more behind this specific task than she realized.
Kitty does such a wonderful job with the move that Sebastian asks her to be his house manager for six weeks as he makes changes to make his inherited home more his and less with the influence of his tyrant of a late grandfather. Can Kitty and Sebastian keep their new relationship professional and ignore the attraction they both feel?
I loved how the author slowly revealed Sebastian’s and Kitty’s back stories. Even though Sebastian is Sir Sebastian now, it’s easy to feel sad for the boy who dealt with so much as a child and young adult. Kitty had loss in her childhood, but was fortunate to have the love of her grandparents. Even now, her grandfather is her primary focus as he ages. This novel is not just a romance story, but also one of family love and its impact on life.
The romance is one that starts will a slow simmer and finally reaches full boil. Even though the title has “second chance”, this is not the typical trope of the hero and heroine reuniting after a certain number of years. This second chance is more immediate and focuses more on misunderstandings.
Kandy Shepherd is another new to me author. I was impressed by her writing style that pulled me right in and quickly forward. I highly recommend this charming story to her current fans and new readers.
