Second to None by K.A. Linde: Many things have changed for Josie now that she is a big shot TV 
actress but the one thing that has never really changed are her feelings for her best friends twin brother the one and only Maddox Nelson. However regardless of their undeniable chemistry and attraction they just could not make their relationship work back then, leaving both of them with battered and bruised hearts.
Fast forward to present day and Josie is back in Savanna to film a movie the only thing is she did not expect to come face to face with non other than Maddox… and their chemistry is as strong as ever. Josie is not the only one who made it big since their unfortunate break up, you see Maddox channeled all of that heart ache into becoming an Oscar winning set designer and now the two are brought back together on the set of this new movie. But the question is can they actually make it work this time round or are they only destined to end up in flames.

As far as second chance romance novels go Second To None is up there with the best of them, in true Linde fashion we are taken on an emotional rollercoaster as our two main characters try to figure out their way back to each other. This book had just the right amount of angsty will they or won’t they drama coupled with an undeniably cute connection. I really liked the fact that Josie and Maddox had been so tired to each others lives growing up and that their back story played so heavily in their current journey, also I loved that we got flashbacks to what their relationship had been.
“Maddox was willing to fight for me. He’d loved me when I was nobody and when I was a television star and when I was once again a nobody. He loved me just how I was.”
If you have been following this series then you would have already meet Maddox and Josie, and have been totally salivating to get your hands on their book, if not that’s perfectly fine but I would definitely recommend reading the two pervious books in the Coastal Chronicles series. I just loved both of them on their own but together now as adults it was just impossible not to find myself rooting them on as they tired to beat their own past failures and shortcomings. Josie is a total ball of energy and life. She loves hard, lives hard and doesn’t always think before acting, but she always has the best of intentions at heart. So to say at first glance that she is the total opposite of broody, moody Maddox would be definitely accurate. But these two have more in common than meets the eye and they are exactly the balance that they each need. I will say there were moments that I didn’t totally love Josie but that was always short lived. My heart just broke for her and all that she had to deal with grown up, this only made her deep desire to be loved and cherished all the more understandable. This same deep-seated need for love and attention is also the thing that makes her so flighty when times get tough and this is largely the thing that factored to the downfall in her relationship with Mad.

Oh sweet broody Maddox, this guy was just so precious. I loved his character to bits. For all his closed of moody grump exterior he was a total softie that was scared to have his heart broken again by the woman that he has always loved. I loved getting to see grown up Maddox learning that he is exactly the man that Josie needs and that his fears all these years have just been holding him back. I really liked getting to see him stand by her and fight for her even though he was scared to let the walls around his heart down. For all their differences these two were two side of the same coin and together they were just perfection. I loved that we got to see them growing and seeing their relationship evolve through the years.
Second To None is packed with emotion, heart, love, friendship and one brilliant second chance love story. This book is a total must read for me! I can not wait to see who Linde has set to steal our hearts next!
