Secret Fling With The Billionaire by Michelle Douglas: Cleo is running to escape from journalists after her picture was splashed across multiple sites. She punched her boyfriend after a break-up over finding out he slept with someone very close to her. Of course, Cleo has quite a reputation as a wild child along with her acting career.

Cleo sees a houseboat moored as she dashes along and takes a leap on to it to escape the rabid herd of reporters. Justin Blackwood is the owner of the houseboat and is not happy about having her on it. All the same, he protects her from a really aggressive reporter and makes her a cup of tea. Of course, he recognizes Cleo. He is at first reluctant to hide her for a couple weeks after she offers her money. He finally relents and they embark on a journey that is filled with discovery and humor.

Little by little Cleo finds out more about Justin and why he lives a reclusive life. He ,too, tries to stay away from the media. He can focus on writing his famous thrillers and attend to other business if he stays mostly hidden

With so much together, sparks are bound to lead to a fling. Will Cleo and Justin be able to walk away after a few weeks?

This story takes place in various places in the UK, but is pretty much a universal tale of love and redemption. Both Cleo and Justin grow over the arc of the plot. They show there is so much more below their exteriors. The hounding of media is all too authentic. It’s a shame celebrity comes with living in a fishbowl, so to speak. Billionaire tropes are usually not my favorite, but this novel has so much richness and depth. You need to add it to your TBR.
