Secret Son To Change His Life by Alison Roberta: Brie Henderson has finally moved from the control center of the EMT group she works to being out in the field with an ambulance crew. The first excursions is extremely stressful not only because there are two women in peril from a domestic abuse incident, but also she is suddenly with Jonno Morgan who she hasn’t seen in several years. They had a one night stand at that time. Despite precautions, Brie ended up pregnant. She tried to get in touch with Jonno. That was a dead end. Her pregnancy has not typical. When a routine sonogram showed her baby had spina bifida, she ended up having risky surgery at 20 weeks. The pregnancy went forward. She had faced lots of surgeries for her son Felix over the years. Luckily, she had her mother who was a nurse to help.

Now, Brie has to find a time to tell Jonno that Felix is his son before he takes off on some other adventure. Even though it has been years, Jonno and Brie still have a serious spark there. Will Brie be able to trust Jonno with her and Felix’s hearts? Jonno told her that he wasn’t into marriage .

It’s easy to understand Jonno’s attitude. He has been estranged from his father for quite a while. He blames his father for the divorce of his parents. This is his mother’s fault, but Jonno has never known the whole story. He is the character who grows the most over the arc of the story.

Brie has had a difficult time, even with her mother’s help. She wants to protect Felix, but at the same time let him know his father. Through her mother, Brie finds out that Jonno’s father, a renown pediatric surgeon is Felix’s grandfather .

I accidentally reader book #2 in the duet first. I strongly suggest you read this book first. The novels are companion tales. This one explores younger love while #2 focuses on more mature love.

I was extremely impressed at the amount of medical research that went into making this book very authentic and realistic. There is both romance and suspense blended perfectly. I am so happy that I got to read these two tales by the talented author Alison Roberts. I look forward to more Medical Romances by her in the future.
