Seducing the Marine by Kate Hoffman: Olivia Eklund was twenty when she made a decision Seducing-the-Marinethat changed the course of her life and of her boyfriend. Now at 29 she is starting to wonder about that decision. She has made a life for herself though, becoming a doctor and setting up outreach clinics, but is it enough?

Will MacIntyre is a Marine, a hero. He defuses bombs for a living but come face to face with his past? Well even he thinks he may be a coward but he just doesn’t want to face what may have been the biggest mistake of his life.

When Will heads home to recovery from an injury and runs into Olivia the sparks fly and questions appear. What happened to them? Why did she send the Dear John letter and the biggest one, is there still anything between them? With a few months of recovery time upon them it’s time to find out if the past stayed in the past or if it just led them to the future.

WOW. Ms. Hoffman has turned up the heat in this novel about finding yourself and your future by realizing that if something (or someone) stays in your head for more than a decade there is probably a reason why. This novel briefly touches on the effects of PTSD and while I wished it delved more deeply into the issue it does show how it can affect all aspects of ones life. In fact the detail in some of the medical situations is incredibly informative and helps to advance character movement in ways I didn’t realize was possible. This has smart, steam and seduction all wrapped up in a sweet story.

Dr. Oliva Eklund can barely find the boy she loved inside the hard, chiseled body of the man Will is now—a Marine who knows just how to tempt her, just how to seduce her. Olivia is well aware that Will plans to return to his unit after he recovers, but she can’t resist trying to heal him. Even if it means sending him back into a war zone. And breaking them apart forever.

This sounds good. I haven’t read that many Blaze titles lately. I’ll have to change that. Thanks for the review.
