In Sexy Little Sinner (Blackwell-Lyon #3) by J. Kenner *2/4*, Connor knows that breaking things off with Kerrie was the right thing to do, given the fourteen year age difference between them. And the fact that he’s close friends with her older brother. But even if it was the right thing, it doesn’t make it an easy thing to deal with. Working with Kerrie at his security company also seems to get tougher every day, although Connor wouldn’t dream of ever leaving his business or asking her to make a change. He’ll just have to suffer through feeling the sparks still between them whenever Kerrie is near.

‘I know that my decision is the right one.
I just never expected that doing the right thing was going to hurt like hell.’

When Connor and Kerrie are teamed up on a potentially dangerous undercover mission, he’s glad that it’s him that will be protecting her. There’s no one else who would be as intensely focused on her safety as he will be. But when they pose as a hot and heavy couple at a sexy, decadent weekend at their target’s grand home, Connor finds himself falling back into a sensual rhythym with Kerrie. And he’s afraid that if they give in to their desires again, there will be no turning back this time.

“Why don’t we go up to the room, get dirty, and *then* get cleaned up?”
“Dirty, huh?”
She grins, and I laugh.
“Aren’t you a sexy little sinner?”
“Absolutely,” she says. “And you know you like it.”

J. Kenner always brings the heat with her erotic-edged romances, but Sexy Little Sinner was one smoking hot book. Add in a little bit of suspense and danger and you have a recipe for a good time.

‘This is more than just the eroticism of the weekend… This is the desire that has always burned between us. A desire I know well.’

Connor and Kerrie’s May-December relationship was just one of the interesting parts of this love story. There were also two other tropes they encompassed: boss/employee, as well as best friend’s little sister. So there was a whole lot of goodness for Kenner to work with here. Right away it was clear how strong the connection was between Kerrie and Connor, whether you read this as a standalone or as a continuation in the series. And thanks to their established past history, things did move pretty fast between them. Not that I minded a bit.

Kerrie and Connor were super sexy together and when they weren’t lamenting over the fact that he thought he was too old for her and she thought he was nuts for his opinion on their age difference, they were quite a lot of fun. This might have been a brief story–I totally could have read another hundred pages about Connor and Kerrie, easily–but it was filled with passion and honest emotions. It was made that much more exciting with them working undercover together on a Blackwell-Lyon case as a couple. So of course you know that lines were crossed, promises to keep things platonic were bent, if not broken, and it caused a major hiccup in their professional relationship. In all the best ways, of course.

Sexy Little Sinner is the type of fast-paced, thrilling story that I think J. Kenner excels at. She knows just how to grab a reader’s attention and not let go until the final page, which can definitely be said for Kerrie and Connor’s steamy romance.

It was wrong to stay together … but we couldn’t stay apart.

I’ve been with my share of women, but none touched my heart and fired my senses the way she did. Her smile enticed me. Her caresses teased me. Her body aroused me.

And yet, it couldn’t last. There were too many years between us. A gap we couldn’t breach, and we broke it off. No. I broke it off. And I’ve regretted that decision ever since.

Now she’s in danger, and there’s no one else I trust to protect her. But the more time we spend together, the more I want her back. And all I know now is I have to keep her safe—and despite both of us knowing better, somehow, someway, she will be mine again.

Thanks! Kenner definitely brings the sexy with her romances. 😉 It was fun how she incorporated the bit of suspense in this one, letting it add more excitement to the storyline. And she did great with the age difference between the H/h–they both acted like adults and were on an even playing field emotionally, so to me it wasn’t even a huge deal as you just *knew* they were meant to be together. Have fun reading!
