Should’ve Said No by Tracy March, will make readers rejoice with this charming small Should’ve Said Notown romance.

In all begins with Lindsey getting laid off from her job at the Smithsonian. She’s desperate for a job after not having one for a year and when her great-aunt offers her a job as a curator in Thistle Bend, Colorado, she drives three days in a U-Haul to get there. So long D.C., hello Thistle Bend!

When Lindsey gets to Thistle Bend, her great-aunt tells Lindsey that she is not allowed to tell anyone that she’s related to a Karlsson. Of course, there is a reason for this. The Karlssons and the Crenshaws have some bad blood between them and there has been a feud in place for years and years. Too bad the most eligible bachelor in Colorado is a Crenshaw.

When Lindsey first meets Carden, she mistakes him for the handy man. Carden does what he can around town, but he actually runs the Crenshaw Family Trust. Lindsey and Carden are immediately attracted to each to other, but both have past relationships that left them sour. Combine that with the secrets they are keeping from each other and it makes for a very interesting story.

Thistle Bend is unique and simple. I would love to live there! The residents are refreshing and one of a kind. The secondary characters served a purpose and were fascinating, especially the Montgomery sisters. The only issue I had with the story was the length of time Carden and Lindsey were apart. To me, it was a little too long and the reunion wasn’t as satisfying as I would have liked. No groveling or extreme apologies….just moving on and making the best of their future together. I did enjoy the very end, where Carden describes Lindsey….

“To the girl who brightens my day like a sunrise, and warms my nights like a fire.”

Anyone who enjoys small town romances needs to read Should’ve Said No by Tracy March.

A year after being laid off from the Smithsonian, Lindsey Simms says yes to a job offer as curator of a heritage museum in Thistle Bend, Colorado (population 1,519). It could be worse—and it is. Because the new museum has escalated a dispute between the Karlssons, Lindsey’s relatives, and the Crenshaws, a blood feud which goes way back to a land deal that changed the fortunes of both families. Trying to stay objective, Lindsey can’t tell anyone about her conflict of interest—especially not the ruggedly handsome handyman fixing up her cabin, who seems to be keeping secrets of his own.

Although he’s the executive director of the family trust and one of Colorado’s most eligible bachelors, Carden Crenshaw prefers getting his hands dirty in town and on his sprawling ranch. Staying busy has given him an excuse not to risk heartbreak, but getting to know the beautiful “museum lady” makes him reconsider. Little does he know, the heat between them will only add fuel to the fire—unless this unlikely couple can prove they’re lovers, not fighters.

I love small town romance, like Susan Mallery’s Fool’s Gold and Emily March’s Eternity Springs, so this one sounds great!
