So True by Serena Bell  is the second book in the Tierney Bay.
Chiara Campbell’s heart broke when Jax, her first love left town without telling her he was leaving or contacting her at all. Shortly afterward her parents died, and her life changed. Her ten-year high school reunion was coming up, but she was sure Jax wouldn’t return. When his younger brother, Evan moves back to town and opens a game shop, Chiara volunteers to help him run the store when he ends up having to have emergency surgery. She never expected Jax to show up or decide to stay and renovate the store for Evan.

At a young age, Jax had taken on the responsibility for his mother and Evan, his sickly younger brother. When they moved to Tierney Bay, he was in high school and found a job working for Rich, Chiara’s father, who he looked up too. He feared involving the authorities when he discovers his mother’s boyfriend had been mistreating Evan. He turns to Rich for guidance, never expecting Rich to tell him that he would give him money to leave town and stay away from Chiara. Jax was devastated when Rich told him he wasn’t good enough for Chiara, but he needed to protect his brother and had no choice but to take Rich’s money. He never expected to return to Tierney Bay but when he discovers that Evan was there, he had no choice. Can Jax and Chiara overcome the secrets and challenges necessary to have a second chance at love?

I haven’t read any other books by this author, so I was excited to read this one. I really enjoyed her style of writing. The book was well written, flowed smoothly, was attention-grabbing, and easy to read. The plot was developed, and the characters were genuine and easy to connect with. The small town of Tierney Bay, Oregon was quaint with close-knit families and neighbors.

I really enjoyed reading the book and look forward to reading more books from this author.

A passionate first love. A deep betrayal. One last chance to make it right.

Jax Walker left Chiara Campbell behind without a word, but he’s never forgotten how it felt to love that fiercely. Not that it matters—he can never go back to Tierney Bay, because the secret he’s keeping would tear them both apart.

Chiara has written Jax out of her life and her memory—until he shows up at the shop where she works. All the hurt she thought she’d buried is still there, and so is her fiery attraction to him. The more Chiara and Jax work together to save the shop, the more she wants things she can’t have.

She knows she’s going to get her heart broken again. She knows it’s going to hurt like hell.

And she’s pretty sure that when he kisses her, she’ll kiss him right back.
