Southern Fried Blues (The Officers’ Ex-Wives Club #1) by Jamie Farrellis the first book that southernfriedbluesI have read by this very talented author, and I can tell you that I will be reading more by this author and more in this series as well.

Anna Grace Martin’s world fell apart when her military husband asked her for a divorce in the middle of their best friends wedding. Stuck in the deep South, miles away from family, friends, and alone, Anna decides to go back to school, finish her degree and find a way to better herself. One thing that she knows for sure is that she is NEVER getting involved with a military man again. Then she joins the Ex-Wives club and here come trouble in the form of a hot, sexy, military, Southern Gentleman…..Jackson Davis

Jackson Davis knew that there was something special about Anna Grace the minute he helped her kill the fire ants that had invaded her car. Never thinking that he was ever going to see her again, much to his surprise they have friends in common and are at the same 4th of July party. Jackson is everything that a good Southern Gentleman should be. But he isn’t looking to get tied down and marriage is a disease that he wants to stay as far away from as he can.

There are sparks between Jackson and Anna Grace, and knowing that if they get involved, their relationship would have an expiration date known as his deployment, they decide to throw caution to the wind and give into their attraction. But when they start to get a little too invested, will they follow their hearts, or run for the hills?

I loved Anna Grace and Jackson. They have such a undeniable chemistry and they just fit together so perfectly. They are polar opposites, but it is the difference that allow them to be everything that the other needs and never realized. I loved the way that Jackson saw thing in Anna and about Anna that her Ex-husband never saw. The way that she organized everything, broke out the label maker when she was upset, color coded and was a little quirky. The way that Jackson was always there, waiting to lend a hand and always believing in Anna and having her back even when she did not realize it.

Their friends and family were laugh out loud funny and some of the situations that they got themselves into had me rolling. I would recommend that lovely story to anyone that loves a good old fashion southern love story with humor, laughter, a HEA as sweet as sweet tea and characters that are so hot they will melt the butter on any biscuits.

A Yankee Lady Stuck in the South
Divorced wasn’t a label Anna Martin ever wanted. Now she’s a thousand miles from home, underemployed, and lonely, but she’s squeezing this lemon life gave her and turning it into lemon meringue pie. Never again will she let any man—especially another military man—get in the way of her career.

A Southern Gentleman Military Officer
Jackson Davis believes in family, football, and Uncle Sam. He treats ladies right, takes his uniform seriously, and he loves his dog, but he doesn’t reckon he’s built for true love. After all, if a man good as his daddy couldn’t do it right, what chance does Jackson have?

One Undeniable Attraction
These two vulnerable souls are as different as cornbread and ketchup, but they fit together like sweet butter on hot biscuits. Short-term, they’re exactly what the other needs. But when their hearts get involved, they’re both gonna end up with a big ol’ case of Southern Fried Blues

Great review, Jen! I absolutely loved this book! It was also my first Jamie Farrell book, but since then I’ve read all her other books and am eagerly awaiting her next one. 😉
