In Taken Over by the Billionaire by Miranda Lee, Beautiful, straightforward, Jess Murphy helps hotshot entrepreneur Benjamin Da Silva when he finds himself in need of a chauffeur. Jess isn’t impressed by his wealth, but each glimpse in the rear view mirror has her aching to climb into the backseat and submit to Benjamin’s every command. His recent takeover cost her her job, and she knows she should steer clear but why isn’t she listening to her own advice and getting involved with Benjamin?
Taken Over by the Billionaire by Miranda Lee is a well written romance but sadly it is not the author’s best work (IMO). There were some good moments and some well written chapters but overall, it was an okay read.
Jess does not like Benjamin from the start because she holds him responsible for losing her last job. She decides to help Ben when he is need of a chauffeur to teach him a lesson. Ben is a billionaire with a girlfriend who has asked him to marry her. He does not love her and tries to break off with her but she gives him some time to think everything through before giving her an answer. During this time he meets Jess, gets into a relationship with her and conveniently forgets to tell his girlfriend that it is over between them. I hated his attitude and his timing when he finally broke things with Amber. Everything about his past is revealed very early on and I would have preferred if there was some amount of depth to his character.
The romance was mediocre and it lacked any intensity to keep me hooked. There is some spanking and tying up involved in a few physical scenes and very light erotica stuff. I was not comfortable with those scenes, mainly because I don’t expect them in Presents.
Overall, Taken Over by the Billionaire by Miranda Lee is a well written romance and an okay read. The author has written much better books and sadly this one was certainly not her best work in my opinion but maybe you will feel differently…
