Talk Flirty to Me by Livy Hart: When Sam and Piper broke up in high school, she thought she was doing the right thing… Until she found Sam in the back of a van with one of their mutual friends too shortly after. It’s all water under the bridge at this point when Piper is back in her hometown, but she can’t stop thinking of him after running into him at the local bar. Struggling with work, she is even more surprised when he offers to help her with voiceover work to get her career started. As the two of them narrate a romance novel, Piper starts to feel a rekindling of their spark.

Sam never forgot about Piper. Being his best friend’s sister, she was always around and then their love blossomed. When she broke it off with him, he was shattered. Now he is a firefighter and running for mayor. Even though he is stretched thin, he can’t help but offer his assistance for her career. He definitely wasn’t expecting a romance novel, so the words he reads bring back emotions that he had hidden deep inside for a long time.
When their work is leaked online, Sam and Piper have to do damage control for Sam’s campaign. When their backs are against the wall, they have to decide what they want to do. Will they fight for what they’ve found again or go their separate ways to save their goals?

Piper doesn’t want to hold anyone back and it sometimes holds her back in the process. Since she doesn’t want to be in the way, she makes decisions that impact her negatively. When the audio book leaks, she wants to save Sam’s run for mayor and ends things before they can really get started. Thanks to her family, she is able to realize that what her and Sam have is more and decides to fight for what she wants instead of putting others first all the time.

Sam always gives his all in everything that he does, and it causes him to add too much to his plate. With all of his goals on the line, he has to decide what to prioritize. Even though he doesn’t want to give up anything, he finally realizes what is most important and wants to fight for it.

First of all, this book is super steamy. Like wow. Secondly, I loved it. The relationship dynamics between Piper and Sam are addicting and you root for them from their first interaction. You can tell that they have feelings buried deep and you want them to explore them. There is also something about reading characters reading romance novels that got to me in this book. Overall, I really enjoyed it and wish it went on forever because I was so sad when the book ended.

I’ve got ninety-nine problems and my brother’s snarky, smart-mouthed best friend Sam is tangled up in every last one of them.

When it comes to firefighter Sam O’Shea, absence—and a regime of tactical avoidance—has been working for me just fiiiine. But when the audition of a lifetime falls in my pathetically broke lap, and he’s the only one who can help me land the job, I’m willing to make a deal with the devil if it means I can kickstart my career as a narrator for audio books.

The problem? We’d have to actually do the job. Together. And then we’re told it’s for an erotic romance. Narrating steamy lines in a tiny studio with a man who lights a fire under your skin? An occupational hazard. Accidentally inciting a town scandal when your erotic audiobook clips wind up on the radio? A crisis. And falling for the one man I promised my brother—and my heart—I wouldn’t touch?
