The Boss Situation by Lyra Parish: Billie has a problem, a big problem to be more accurate! Not only is her worst enemy out to destroy her fashion empire but he has now gone and teamed up with her no good cheating ex! Talk about the least ideal of all situations, but if there is one thing Billie will not do, it is go down without a fight! And a fight is just what Asher Banks has coming his way, if he thinks that Billie is going to beg and grovel for him to help her, then he sure has another thing coming…

“I would burn the world to ash for you without apology—because the glass slipper only fits one princess. And that’s you.”

I love a good enemies to lovers, banter filled romcom and that is definitely what we get with The Boss Situation. This book was a hoot from start to end, granted the first half of this book was a bit chaotic but once you got sucked into Asher and Billie’s story it was pretty hard to put it down. I just ate up all the hate to love banter and barbs that these two threw at each other at literally every turn, there was such a nice slow build up with just a bit of angst that really made me love this book just a bit more. Oh and the added layer of drama towards the end, just perfection!

Billie was a total girl boss! I loved her sassy, no nonsense, boss lady energy and the fact that she was not afraid to roll up her sleeves and get the work done herself. Not only did she radiate boss girl energy but Billie was actually a really nice person, I loved the fact that she had a strong sense of morals and knew that hard work pays off. We really get to see her grow stronger and more confident as the book progresses but also get to see her realise that it is okay to ask for help now and again and allow others to support her. Now for our hero, gosh Asher was cocky, arrogant and so completely sure of himself and I just loved this about him because deep down he was a total softie! For all his boardroom boogieman reputation, Asher was actually a sweetheart once you got to know him and he let you into his inner circle, granted when it came to business he was pretty cutthroat but this only added to his characters charm. I just loved getting to see our hero flex his protective side and really prove that he is not afraid to work to get what he wants and he always gets what he wants.

“You’re never alone, princess. Not as long as my heart beats.”

The chemistry between these two was just perfection, there was banter for days and let me just tell you these two sure knew how to ignite the sparks with each other. I loved the enemies fuelled banter and the way they found their connection slowly melting into something so much steamier and more meaningful. It was so easy to get invested in Billie and Asher’s journey as they went form old college rivals to working together and figuring out this connection that they share is so much more than either of them expected, simply put these two were just meant to be together.

I loved every moment of Billie and Asher’s story, The Boss Situation had just the right amount of drama, angst, banter and so much of sass. If you are a fan of the enemies to lovers, girl boss, office romance and he falls first tropes then this book definitely needs to be on your TBR!

Publication: April 24, 2025 | Happily Ever After Ink | Billionaire Situation #3

When my worst enemy teams up with my ex to destroy my fashion company, I prepare for war…Asher Banks, with his honey-brown colored eyes and cocky attitude, has been at the top of my shit list since college. Nothing has changed in thirteen years. They call him the boogeyman of business because his marketing firm has single-handedly bankrupted several corporations with little to no effort. And because of my jealous ex, I’m now in Banks’ crosshairs.

It’s a very dangerous place to be.

Since Banks is best friends with my older brothers, he grants a single favor and offers to work with my brand instead. The catch? He wants me to drop to my knees and beg for his help, which I cannot and will not do.

Now, I’ll face the consequences.

Beating Banks and my cheating ex is my top priority, or I’ll have to find a fill-in husband so I can claim my inheritance. Both options seem impossible, but this princess is determined to save herself.
