The Broken Vows by Catharina Maura: There is just something about Celeste Harrison that Zane Windsor can not seem to get enough off. It all started out innocent enough with a silly childhood rivalry, trying to one up each other while getting a rise out of one and other. Harmless competition really but as they grew so did the stakes, now with both of them working for their families companies stakes are at the highest, only this time Zane is more sure than ever that he wants to play to win and if that means that he has to destroy Celeste’s company and force her hand in marriage, then that is exactly what he plans on doing… after all the line between love and hate is thinner than we think…

The Broken Vows was an absolutely captivating enemies to lovers, arranged marriage romance and I just loved this book! It was pretty hard to find fault with this angsty, steamy, banter filled romance. There was such a brilliant balance between the fiery rivalry between Celeste and Zane and the constant underlying chemistry and attraction that flowed between them. Add in the fact that this was a hero falls first romance and I was completely sold! I just loved the fact that we got to see Zane and Celeste’s story from both the past but also how they have grown and changed into the people that they are in the present.

I really liked both Zane and Celeste and that they both had such strong personalities. Celeste made for a really interesting leading lady, she was far from a passive wallflower and I for one really like this quality in a heroine. I really enjoyed the fact that she was so competitive and she never backed down when it came to facing Zane. Now for our hero, well lets just say that Zane was the kind of hero that you either love or hate and I for one loved him to bits. Granted there were moments that he did go about handling his feelings for Celeste in a less than ideal manner but for the most part he was actually a really swoony hero. Zane played into the stereotype of boy likes girl so he will be mean to girl, but lets just say as he grew up he learned that there are better way to get said girls attention. All in all I really liked these two characters and the build up in their relationship.

Im a huge fan of the arranged marriage, marriage of convince trope and this book definitely delivered in this regard. Add in the fact that these two already had a history with some tension and I was completely on board. There were loads of moments and small things about their relationship that will totally melt your heart. I will say that there is a fair deal of angst and build up to their relationship but this only made them finally getting their happily ever after all the more sweet.

The Broken Vows was an emotionally charger, angst filled, enemies to lovers, arranged marriage romance. This book will have you tearing up, giggling and fighting alongside this couple as they work to achieve their happily ever after.

She was his first love, his first heartbreak, and his only regret.

Zane Windsor always loved the way Celeste Harrison’s eyes light up when he infuriates her. It just took him years to realize that what he felt for his childhood rival wasn’t hatred.

When they begin working for their family businesses, competing on a larger scale than ever before, he decides he wants it all with her — and what Zane Windsor wants, he gets.

Zane and Celeste discover just how thin the line between love and hate truly is, falling harder than either of them thought possible…

…until an unexpected tragedy leaves them wondering if any of it was ever real at all.

Led by a desire for revenge, Zane brings Celeste’s company to the brink of bankruptcy, leaving both of their grandparents no choice but to intervene.

The Windsors and Harrisons agree to a merger — on one condition: Zane and Celeste must marry each other.
