REVIEW: The CEO and the Single Dad by Mickey Renae

The CEO and the Single Dad by Mickey Renae: Kiara Kirk has been dubbed the Queen of Luxury Real Estate. She travels a lot for her work and has a tiny apartment in Paris as a sort of crash pad when she is not on the road to work with clients. Her latest client is Bowen James, a celebrity fighter who wants a new home. He and Kiara were together for six moths six years ago. That was a record for Bo who had the nickname of Heartbreaker since he never stayed with women for very long. Kiara was the one who left him after deciding since he never wanted children it was time to move on. Kiara believes she and Bo can still be professional, sell his current home and find the perfect new one.

Kiara is truly thrown for a loop when she sees that Bo is caring for a baby. Here is a man who never wanted children being a perfect father with baby Emily who he nicknames “Chicken”. He eventually reveals how he came to have Emily in his care. Can the three of them become a family or are there too many secrets and heavy emotional baggage in both their pasts?

Kiara is driven and always trying to impress her mother who definitely wasn’t the warm fuzzy type. Kiara has secrets that she never told Bo and wonders how revealing them will impact their relationship.

Bo is a big, strong man who has to decide if it’s time to give up his very physical career while he’s still on top. You can’t blame him with having paparazzi around too much of the time. His care of Emily is so sweet. As he slowly reveals his past, it is even more amazing to see his tender side.

Kiara’s mother plays a secondary, pivotal character. I liked how the author showed how she had shaped so much of Kiara’s life. Bo’s mother is very engaging and absolutely loves her granddaughter. She plays a sad part in how Bo’s early life was so traumatic.

Second chance romances are a favorite of mine. Author Michele Renae builds a very sensual romance in lovely locations. She is a new to me author. I will seek out other novels she has written.
