In The Child They Didn’t Expect by Yvonne Lindsay, Alison Carter and Ronin Marshall meet in Hawaii while on vacation and spend a steamy night together. In the morning Ronin leaves in a hurry without saying anything when he gets to know  about the death of his sister and brother in law in a car accident. Alison and Ronin meet again when he contacts her baby-planning service for his orphaned nephew. Alison has had enough heartbreak to last a lifetime and she wants nothing to do with Ronin.

But he must have Ali. Only she can rescue Ronin from the upheaval of caring for his orphaned nephew…and give Ronin more of what he shared with her during the best night of his life. But something is holding her back. And Ronin will stop at nothing to find out what secrets she’s keeping!

The Child They Didn’t Expect by Yvonne Lindsay is a well written romance with a plot to keep you hooked till the very end. Ronin is an awesome hero because he does not shy away from responsibilities and handles himself very well in the aftermath of his sister and brother in law death. Alison is a divorcee who is not willing to risk falling in love again. She has difficulty in trusting Ronin after their fling together and she takes some time to get over her misunderstandings about him. I loved how well the characters worked together and sorted whatever issues they had. There was emotions, a sweet romance and moderate amount of steam.

Overall, The Child They Didn’t Expect by Yvonne Lindsay is another wonderful addition to the Billionaires and Babies collection and should be read by everyone who loves this trope.
