In The Christmas Fix by Lucy Score, When reality TV star Catalina “Cat” King sets her mind to something, nothing will keep her from her goal. That’s why she’s
not worried in the least when she pitches an idea to rebuild small holiday-themed town Merry, Connecticut, after a hurricane destroys it, and the town manager balks. Cat will find her own way to carry forward with her plans without involving the handsome single dad–much. But Noah is always there, ready to pick a verbal fight over everything. As much as Cat loves to prove men wrong about her capabilities–whether it’s as a general contractor or in her personal life–she knows the town’s livelihood is at stake. Christmas is when they shine. And when they make most of their yearly revenue. With their homes already in disarray from the hurricane, Cat will do everything it takes to pull off the miracle she promised her new friends in Merry.
“I have the resources to get this entire town back on its feet and ready for Christmas. To walk away from that is irresponsible and downright idiotic.”
“Being a reality TV star, I’d think that would be your life’s mantra.”
Noah has his plate full already when Cat and her TV crew blow into town. Between an already meager town budget and the devastation the hurricane left behind–and let’s not forget the holiday season soon approaching–the last thing he needs is sexy Cat trying to take over. Could Merry use the money she’s promising to dole out? Absolutely. But will Noah agree to the TV circus so his town can rebuild quicker than planned? He’s not sure. Because as much as he despises reality television, he has to admit that it really does seem like Cat has her heart in the right place. Noah knows he has issues with trust and letting go of control. But maybe this time, with Cat, he’s found the one person he can actually count on.
‘He wanted to tell her no. Wanted to personally escort her out of town. But the town needed her money more than it needed his righteousness.’
What’s better than a Lucy Score romance? How about a Lucy Score *holiday* romance? With its small-town shenanigans, laugh out loud moments, and characters you’ll wish you could hang out with, THE CHRISTMAS FIX was a gift readers will treasure.
‘Cat had never in her life swooned over a man before. Maybe a new power tool or a supremely perfect pair of stilettos. But never a man. This was new.’
THE CHRISTMAS FIX paired together a buttoned-up city manager and a kickass reality TV star to pull off a Christmas miracle: rebuild a small town after a devastating hurricane wreaked havoc–and get it all completed before the holidays are over. Easier said than done. Especially with the aforementioned duo, Noah and Cat, at the helm. Because even though there were enough sparks of attraction between them to power all the holiday lights in Merry, to say they didn’t get along for a good chunk of the book is putting it mildly. In true Lucy Score style, though, oh what fun it was. The bickering, the (mostly) good-natured smack talk, and even the wrong assumptions Cat and Noah made about each other was fodder for laughter instead of frustration.
Although this was book two in the Fixer duet, you can read THE CHRISTMAS FIX as a standalone pretty easily. You’ll still get a true sense of just how capable and caring Cat was, our general contractor, feminist, and TV star extraordinaire. I loved that she stood on her own two feet and didn’t let anyone get away with putting her down for being a woman in a supposed man’s world–or make her feel bad for turning to reality television to save her family’s construction business. Cat played by her own rules and was constantly on the move. Something that made reality TV hater, always prepared Noah break out in a cold sweat.
As much as I adored watching Cat get knocked in the (metaphorical) back of her head with a two-by-four by love, seeing Noah fall for her was even better. I won’t spoil for you the progression of how it happened. But let’s just say the sexy single dad was every bit as gob smacked by Cat as she was him. And given his penchant for carefully planning out his life, he had no idea the directions he would be pulled in when he finally let go. Sigh.

From the #1 New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Things We Never Got Over: She’ll save Christmas just to spite him…
There’s only one thing standing in the way of Cat King saving Merry, Connecticut’s Christmas Grumpy town manager Noah Yates. Single dad Noah takes his responsibilities seriously. When a late season hurricane turns his town into a disaster, he’s left scrambling to pick up the pieces of the town he loves. At least, until home renovation expert and reality TV star Catalina King arrives with a camera crew and a budget big enough to put the town back together again. But Noah doesn’t want a celebrity diva capitalizing on their tragedy or filling his young daughter’s head with visions of glitz and glam.
Blonde bombshell Cat is used to being underestimated, but Noah has an uncanny knack for getting under her skin. They can’t be in a room together without rubbing each other the wrong way…except that time in the dark alley where the rubbing was just right. Can these enemies work together to pull off a Christmas miracle or will their fighting leave them both on the naughty list?
Author’s Note: These enemies-to-lovers deliver the holiday feels with a dirty-talking hero, ballsy blonde who never backs down, steamy hot break-the-dining-room-table sexy times, and a small town that still believes in the magic of Christmas.
