REVIEW: The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore

The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore: Kira North has taken her inheritance and sunken it all into a Christmas tree farm in Dream Harbor. She didn’t realize that the farm house had lots of issue that needed repairs, especially the heating system. She doesn’t have the money now for the expensive repairs and hopes selling some of the Christmas trees will help.

Bennett Ellis is on vacation in Dream Harbor and does not have a meet-cute with Kira. He runs into Kira out in her fields. She is super grumpy and doesn’t seem to know anything about tree farms. No way is Ben going to help her after she is so mean and rude to him.

Eventually Ben tries again to help Kira and she decides she needs to give him and the townspeople a chance to help her. Will Kira be able to make a go and not have to slink back home in defeat? Can she be more that friends with Ben?

This novel is the third in series. It works well as a standalone. I hope to go back and read the others in the near future. There is even a Spotify playlist included in this book that is clever and fun.

I found Kira very annoying at first, but eventually I could see her finer points as she warmed up to Ben and the town. Ben has left California behind after a dating life that was awful. He is a very caring and patient man to have to deal with Kira at the beginning.
This tale combines a small town story and spicy romance in just the right mixture. Christmas is a wonderful time of the year with love and kindness.
