The Devil She Knows by Kira Sinclair is the third book about the happenings in the tourist town of Sweetheart, South Carolina and hopefully it won’t be the last. The first two books in the series are very good.

TDSKAt seventeen, good-girl Willow Portis and devilish twenty-year old Devlin (Dev) Warwick felt a strong attraction for each other. They shared a sexual encounter that cemented their interest and passion forever. Willow and Dev met through Willow’s older sister Rose, a wild girl who was a good friend of Dev’s. Due to unfortunate circumstances forced upon Dev by Rose, Dev’s grandfather kicked him out and the community basically banished him.

It is ten years later and Willow remains in Sweetheart. She is a very successful bridal dress designer and owns her own shop. The community loves her and looks out for her interests. Rose is now a Las Vegas showgirl, relocating after a bad marriage and subsequent divorce. Dev finally returns to Sweetheart after his flourishing landscaping company is awarded the bid for the town’s new green resort. Even though he no longer manages any on-site projects personally, he cannot resist the temptation to return to his hometown a success.

The annual Fall Masquerade is where Willow and Dev get together. Hidden behind her mask and costume, Willow morphs into a sexy angel and steps out of her devout comfort zone. She is on the prowl. She and Dev slow dance together and end up having mind-blowing sex all through the night, with their masks on. The following morning, Willow realizes the stranger she slept with is Dev and asks him to leave.

As time goes on, Dev is able to explain to Willow what really went on between him and her sister all those years ago. Luckily, she believes him and they begin to spend time together and fall madly in love. Of course being happy is short-lived because Willow is being stalked and Dev is hiding a secret from his past. As the mysteries and truths are uncovered, their love for each other coalesces.

If you are looking for a well-written, spicy romantic read with a little more than a splash of suspense and angst, this book is for you.

Sounds like the type of book I like. Town mettles in things, relatives cause problems, young romance has to be revisited to make sure it is real. Sounds like a really good book. Thanks for all the work you do bringing this books to my attention.
