The Last Heir of Monterrato is Andie Brock debut novel. It is a well written second chance romance. There was a galore of misunderstandings to be sorted before the characters could get a HEA.
This was one of the romances in which if the characters had sat together and talked, things would have been different than what they were. Rafael starts out as a cold and indifferent man. He uses his indifference as a method to shield himself from getting too involved and silence is his coping mechanism. Lottie is a sweet heroine who has built a new life for herself after her estrangement from Rafael. She was the perfect woman to get through Rafael’s barriers. She gave in without much fight when Rafael offered his proposal and that was because she wanted a child as much as he.
The romance was well done with some really good moments and it was filled with misunderstandings as stated before. There was even an epilogue which wrapped the story nicely without any loose ends.
Overall, The Last Heir of Monterrato by Andie Brock is an enjoyable second chance romance and is recommended for everyone who like a little struggle in their romance. This one was well worth my time and I can’t wait to read some more from the author.
