The Nanny Proposal by Joss Wood is book six in the Texas Cattleman’s Club: The Impostor, a multi-author series with a few mysteries to be solved. It’s also a sexy workplace romance for two people who let passion lead to love.

Kasey Monroe had a one night stand with Aaron Phillips before becoming his employee, but once their working relationship is established they mutually agree to keep their hands off each other. When Aaron’s brother goes missing and he takes in his five year old niece, he’s in desperate need of a nanny, and Kasey agrees to help him out temporarily. Now that they’re under the same roof, it’s a bit harder to ignore the attraction between them. Aaron turns to Kasey for support while the search is on for his brother, and they rekindle their sexual relationship. But can it lead to a happy ever after?

If you haven’t read the previous books in the series, the author does give a short rundown of what you’ve missed and the important key plot points so that this story continues the mystery of delving into who was impersonating a key character, and why. Aaron’s missing brother is a point of concern, and on this the plot does take some serious turns, a bit more than I was expecting.

Amidst the mystery plot is the burgeoning romance between Kasey and Aaron. They definitely have some good chemistry and share some sexy scenes, even while they keep trying to maintain their professional relationship. Living together makes this hard, and Kasey also begins to develop a relationship with Aaron’s niece who understandably turns to her and Aaron in the absence of her parents. There are lots of ups and downs before Kasey and Aaron figure out how to work together, parent together and give each other the support and love to be happy together. It’s an intriguing, entertaining, and emotional romance.

“You work for me. That’s it.”

So why can’t she stay out of his bed?

She’d slept with Aaron Phillips before he became her boss. And Kasey Monroe had successfully avoided temptation ever since. But now the bachelor Texas tycoon demands she add temporary live-in nanny to her job description, to help with his niece. She’ll be “playing house” with the man she can’t resist. What could possibly go wrong with that arrangement?
