The Perfect Mistake by Olivia Hayle: All her life Isabel dreamed of being a professional ballerina but all it took was for one ill fated moment to derail her dreams, now she has no job, no place to stay and a hip injury that she is recovering from. So when her best friend suggest that she nanny for billionaire hottie Alec, who is in dire need of some help with his kids Isabel doesn’t think to much of it, after all how hard could it be? However the one thing that Isabella did not factor in was how much she would enjoy fitting into the lives of Alec and his kids, or he newly developing feelings for the hot single dad. What was supposed to be an easy win win situation, help his sisters friend out of a jam and get a live in nanny for his kids, soon turns into one the most challenging situations of Alec’s life. Should he give into his desires or keep the young ballerina at length?

The Perfect Mistake was such a cute read, this book truly captures what I love about the nanny trope. There was a great build up, low angst, lots of cute moments and two main characters that were so clearly perfect for each other. I absolutely loved the fact that this book highlighted the fact that the heart truly knows no bounds, and that age really doesn’t matter.

I have to say it was super easy to love and root on both Isabel and Alec, these two just made one of the cutest couples ever. I just adored Isabel, she was a strong, determined and super supportive leading lady. Even after having her dreams smashed she did not give up and cry in a corner, she regrouped and made a new plan. I just loved that was determined to go after her happiness and was not shy to say things as they were. As for our hero Alec, well he had his moments where I just wanted to smack some sense into him. As much as I liked his character and understood his fear of opening up again, I really did not like that he was so hot and cold with Isabel at first. Though he kind of did redeem himself with the amount of care and support that he showed her.

The age gap between these two might have been fourteen years but gosh that did not stop them from being so perfectly in tune with one another. The chemistry between these two was just perfect, they had a great mix of steamy spark mixed with warm wholesomeness. I also liked that they had an element of slow burn to their relationship and that they took the time to really grow together. I loved that they were both so open with their communication and that Isabel did not hold back on what she wanted. I loved that Isabel worked to earn the trust of Sam and Willa, and that she genuinely grew to love and care for them. Isa really was the soothing balm that both Alec and the kids needed to move on and truly come alive again.

All in all The Perfect Mistake was truly the perfect combination of sweet and steam. This forced proximity, best friends brother, age gap romance will melt your heart with how cute these two fall in love.

Hiring my little sister’s best friend as the new nanny for my kids? Big mistake.

Isabel is fifteen years too young, too kind, and far too attractive for this to be anything but a problem. Nannying requires her to move in, living close enough to reach out and grab… Not that I would. I’m old enough to know better.

She’s a professional ballerina recovering from an injury, and I’m the CEO of a multibillion-dollar conglomerate. She needs a job. I need a nanny. It’s a simple win-win.

Wrong. It’s sheer torture. Coming home late to find her curled up on the couch. To see her smile at me and ask how my day was. She’s beautiful, and always around, and the thoughts I’m having soon turn inappropriate.

But that life is behind me. My wife died years ago, and I can’t handle another relationship. Can’t handle the complications, the feelings, or the inevitable pain.

Even if Isabel is a temptation too sweet to resist. Kissing her is addictive… and soon I can’t keep my hands to myself or stay on my side of the penthouse.

It’s easy to forget things like age gaps and fears in the heat of passion. But us together is a mistake… even if it quickly becomes my favorite one.
