The Price of a Dangerous Passion by Jane Porter: Charlotte has one rule don’t get involved with clients, but once she meets charming business tycoon Brando all logic flies right out the window. Brando has always been the love em and leave em type of guy but when it comes to family he is as serious as they come. All his life Brando pictured raising his family in the beautiful Tuscany, so when his former PR exec turned steamy fling informs him that she is expecting his child, his first reaction is that they must get married and fast.
A marriage of convenience is definitely not what Charlotte was expecting when she told Brando that she was pregnant. And it sure isn’t something that she wanted. But with spending together again the two find themselves breaking another one of the self imposed rules, the question is will Charlotte and Brando be able to make this into more than just marriage of convenience.
“I should have told you. I should have said them before, not just once, but over and over, until you felt safe, and loved. Because you are loved. You are my heart, Charlotte.”
As much as I like this novel, I found that both lead characters were complete contradictions. We start of the novel with Brando being a complete no commitment, love em and leave em kind of guy but all that changes the moment he finds out he is going to be a father. As for Charlotte she wants her marriage to be one of love and commitment but at the same time is scared to be open and vulnerable. I actually think it’s this contradiction in the leads that makes this story that much more interesting.
I actually have to say I kind of liked the changed version of Brando, being all family oriented. I absolutely loved the ending of this unexpected pregnancy romance. Porter has done a such a good job at wrapping Charlotte and Brando’s story with the perfect fairytale ending.

When business and pleasure collide
The consequences are life changing…
Powerful tycoon Brando Ricci cannot imagine raising his child anywhere but in Tuscany, surrounded by family. So when PR executive Charlotte Parks shows up at his door and tells him she’s pregnant, he has the only solution. They must marry pronto.
Charlotte already broke her biggest rule by giving in to temptation with Brando. He’s a former client—and impossibly skilled in bed! But a marriage of duty? No, thank you. Unless Brando can break his own number one rule: keeping his heart off-limits.
