The Rules of Their Red-Hot Reunion by Joss Wood is an beautiful example of descriptive writing which took me far, far away from my New Years in NZ. Combined with one of my favourite plots, reunion stories, this was a beautiful and heart-felt read.

The stunning cover attracted me and the opening chapter warms up with beautiful writing and setting the scene. I love a good reunion story and this was exactly that. The reconnection of past love written well is always a wonderful foundation to draw from and expand. The marriage breakdown was explained well and when Pasco and Aisha meet again both have grown more mature and are ready-ish to tackle what went wrong.

It was lovely to revisit past characters and have that connection and I have an appreciation for the care Joss uses to describe South Africa. Despite the marriage break down the author conveys the love they felt for each other and when this is done right I am always sitting heart in mouth hoping for a happy ending. This one was rocky and super emotional with a super duper tricky-make-you-want-to-wring-his-neck Hero and a beautiful heroine who belong together.

Rather than delve into the wonderful plot I’ve tried more to explain how I felt reading this and it was awesome! Highly recommended.

Book Info:

Publication: Jan 22 | Harlequin Presents |

When Aisha married Pasco Kildare, she was naively following her heart. But Pasco’s single-minded ambition led to them living separate lives. Thrust back in the South African billionaire’s world—as his business partner!—she’ll rewrite the terms of their relationship.

Now wildly successful, Pasco knows his workaholic ways caused irreparable damage. But Aisha has changed, too: her new strength shines. Keeping things professional is only sensible, but when their reunion takes a scorching turn, ripping up Aisha’s rule book is dangerously tempting…
