The Sultan’s Harem Bride by Annie West is the first book in the Desert Vows duet. It is a well written romance on a sort of forbidden romance between a sultan and foreign journalist turned writer.
Sultan Asim of Jazeer needs to marry wisely and diplomatically but the woman he wants is all wrong for what he is looking in a bride. Jacqui Fletcher is a journalist turned writer who is invited by his grandmother to write a history of the harem not to become a sultan’s plaything! But it’s hard to remember her assignment when the sultan’s sensuous caresses spark a fire she’s never experienced before.
The Sultan’s Harem Bride by Annie West was a well written romance with two very likable and adorable characters who have a great chemistry together. There romance is forbidden and thats why it is all the more hotter and passionate.
Jacqui is a sweet yet strong heroine who cares so much for the people around her. I loved how she stopped at nothing to get what she wanted. I loved her throughout and she was definitely the perfect heroine for me! Asim is a domineering hero without crossing the alpha jerk line. I loved how protective he was of his sister and how he cared for her. Samaira, Asim’s sister was another reason I loved this story so much and I can’t wait to read more about her next month!
Overall, The Sultan’s Harem Bride was an enjoyable read and though it might not have any serious angst, I was pretty much hooked till the end!
