The Wedding Shop by Rachel Hauck: Initially I was not sure what to expect with “The Wedding The-Wedding-ShopShop: While I have read and enjoyed Rachel Hauck’s past novels, books in which time switches back and forth from past to present are not always my favorite reading choice. However, this story was a very happy surprise that kept me glued to my seat!

My heart went out repeatedly to Cora as she clung to hope that Rufus would keep his promise to marry her and spend their lives together. My heart also went out to Haley as she went up against a huge profit oriented development company to preserve a special landmark shop in her hometown. There were so many parallels between each of their stories, and this made for a compelling read.

With Cora’s story I began rooting for Birch to win her heart, and that she would see who was right in front of her all along. With Haley’s story, I hoped and prayed she would learn to trust Cole, while still getting over very difficult losses and mistakes.

“The Wedding Shop” is a unique combination of historical AND contemporary romance. This was such a beautiful story in many ways, and I wholeheartedly recommend it!
