In Two Week Temptation in Paradise by Michele Renae, author Saralyn has taken a solo vacation after her divorce to ponder what she’s going to do next. Will she continue to ghostwrite, or write a book under her own name? The island is supposed be empty, but she comes across the owner, David, a billionaire who’s there to battle his own demons. A tentative friendship grows into a romance, but when their two weeks are up and they have to face reality, will their relationship survive?

Both Saralyn and David are struggling with issues from their pasts and turned to the island to heal. I enjoyed watching them both grow comfortable with each other and open up about their pasts, their current struggles, and their hopes and dreams.

I also like that the characters were older with an age gap; Saralyn is almost fifty, and David is thirty-five. While Saralyn was concerned about the age gap, David had no such concerns. He helps her embrace the woman that she is and that she wants to be and proves to her that age is just a number that will only come between them if she lets it.

While the pair did fall quickly for one another, I thought the author did a good job of letting the characters grow and get to know each other during their time on the island. I will also warn you that this is not a happily ever after, rather a happily for now story. There’s no real conclusion as to how their relationship ended up after they leave the island together. I personally would have liked to have known how they ended up, but that’s just me, and it didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment of the story.

This book would be for readers who enjoy age gap romances.
