Unlocking Her Boss’s Heart by Christy McKellen: When you lose something important in your life you have two choices. Learn to live with the memories and grow while moving forward or focus on what was and not move on.

Cara Winstone was choosing to move on, yes right now things were tough, but she was going to get over her failed work stuff, her failed relationship and now her crazy living situation. She was going to make her life what she wanted and she wanted it to be happy and progressive. Cara was determined and she knew she could do it.

Max Firebrace was choosing to live in the past, whether he really understood that or not. He just wasn’t able to move on, not yet. It wasn’t fair that he was here and she wasn’t. That just wasn’t right. So it was time to throw himself into his office and his work.

When Cara showed up on Max’s doorstep to become his PA neither one of them knew that on top of creating a better work environment she would end up lighting up his life as well. Would it be just a slight parting of the clouds though or would the sunshine be there to stay?

Ms. McKellen has give her readers an interesting story of learning to deal with grief in this novel. It’s not a typical romance, nor does it have a much heat to it. It is an emotional read with really great main character development that focuses probably more on the hero than the heroine, which is a little unusual.

If you are interested in more of a cerebral read Unlocking Her Boss’s Heart by Christy McKellen is definitely a book to keep your heart engaged.
