Until the Ride Stops by Amie Denman was such a pleasure to read, including the treat of reading once again about the Hamilton family and their very special theme park Starlight Point. I have always loved theme parks, and Amie Denman so skillfully describes Starlight Point’s attractions that i feel I am right in the stories and on the midway!
In Until the Ride Stops, we meet Caroline, a young amateur police officer at Starlight Point, who is determined to find answers for what is considered a cold case from a death on a roller coaster 30 years ago. It holds special meaning for her because the young girl who died was the daughter of her neighbors.
Caroline is fixated on justice at all costs, believing that justice will bring peace. She meets Matt, who is in charge of the construction project building a new coaster that is replacing the one from the cold case. Matt feels tremendous pressure in building the coaster, due to his family’s connection with the original coaster. Matt also feels an instant connection with Caroline, whom he finds himself seeking out nearly daily. Meanwhile, Caroline does not stop asking questions of Matt, of his family, and of anyone she meets, regarding the old coaster mystery. Her brother, and extended family which includes the Hamilton’s, try to counsel her that justice may come at deep costs. She also fights her feelings for Matt while trying to solve the case.
To find out if this growing romance will continue to progress, and to see if Caroline gets to the bottom of the case, I invite you to read Until the Ride Stops. You will also feel that you are right there in Starlight Point!

Caroline Bennett is not looking for a summer romance. As a police officer at Starlight Point amusement park, she’s got more important things to worry about, like solving a cold case involving a girl’s mysterious death thirty years ago. Construction engineer Matt Dunbar is one of the few people who’ll talk about the incident, but even he’s not eager to dig up the past. Matt’s working on a new state-of-the-art roller coaster–a project that could make or break his career–yet he still finds time for Caroline. As the end of summer approaches, her investigation implicates Matt’s company, and she has to choose: justice or the funny, charming man she’s falling for.
