In Unwrapped (Silver Creek #3.5) by Maisey Yates, Sarah was raised by her strict, unloving Grandmother. Her Grandmother is gone, but Sarah still lives in the same house she was Unwrappedraised in, still wears very conservative clothes, and is still a virgin at 30 years old. Sarah’s Grandmother tried to teach her that sex and desire is a sin…but Sarah feels differently and she’s ready to find a man, even if it is just for one night.

When Walker walks into the bar that Sarah is sitting in, contemplating her life and her plans, her heart races and she makes her move. Walker is long past the one night stand stage of life, but something about Sarah draws him in. When he gives Sarah what she wants, as much as she enjoys it, she is suddenly running scared from his room, a bundle of emotions.

Sarah didn’t think she’d ever see Walker, a stranger in town, again…to her shock he turns out to be the father of her new kindergarten student. And she still can’t help herself, offering to help him with his daughter over the Christmas break…but she’s got her Granny panties on and Walker is not going to get them off of her again! She is dealing with feelings she didn’t expect, and he is dealing with a past that’s tainting his future. Sarah is falling hard and fast for Walker, but he wants to keep things between them only in the bedroom. Will he ever be able to let her all the way in?

Unwrapped is a fast paced novella with a hero/heroine who can’t resist each other, but one of them doesn’t want complications. Walker is not looking for another relationship after the way things ended with his ex-wife and how she made him feel…but unexpectedly Sarah makes him feel again…she is good for him. He is so good with his daughter, but at the same time is never truly confident in himself as a father. I liked how Sarah helps Walker with his daughter and helps him see all the little things. Sarah is a great main character…she is unexpectedly forward and hilarious! I liked how open she was. I liked how she tried so hard to resist Walker but just couldn’t! I really enjoyed her character and cared for her.

Walker’s daughter is a sweetheart and a strong secondary character, the one that pulls Walker and Sarah again. She will pull at your heart.

Unwrapped was never boring, and Maisey kept me entertained and looking forward to see how things would work out with Walker and Sarah. I felt that the novella length of Unwrapped was the right length for the story to be told, and the plot flowed smoothly. I loved the Christmasy aspect and the snow scenes, they made Walker and Sarah’s relationship all the more magical!

Unwrapped is part of Maisey’s Silver Creek series, but it can be read as a stand alone. I’d recommend Unwrapped to romance readers looking for a short, entertaining read.
