Up in Smoke by Kate Meader: All her life Abby Sullivan has wanted to be just like her parents, so after four years as a paramedic she is now made her way to being a rookie firefighter at her mothers fire house. So to say that her dream is finally coming true would be far from an understatement, however with this comes a few challenges of its own starting with trying not be stuck in her mothers former glory and having to deal with her fathers distain for her choice in career. If there is one thing that Roman Rossi can’t say no to, is pie. Which is exactly how he finds himself sharing a slice of cherry pie with a fiery red head that rocks his world like no one has in a very long time. Finally after having come out of a messy divorce Roman can see himself thinking about starting up a relationship with the sassy redhead, well that is until he finds Abby reporting for duty as the stations new rookie! The question is can these two survive these smouldering feelings without getting burnt?

Phew! Talk about a steamy romance that will burn up the pages, I absolutely loved reading this sexy alpha single dad romance, with a bit of forbidden romance thrown into the mix to keep things spicy. Firstly can we just start off with how adorable was Abby and Roman’s meet cute, to think it all came together over a slice of pie.

Abby was such a boss girl, I loved that she was such a little pocket rocket all on her own. One of the things that I liked the most about her was her total never back down attitude, she knew what she wanted and she went and got it. I absolutely loved getting to see her build a relationship with Roman’s daughter. However there were a few moments that I wanted to just shake some sense into her and wake her up, like wake up girl its okay to let your heart win.

“You’d give me your last bite?”
“I’d give you my last anything.”

Now the combination of sexy single dad mixed in with alpha hero fireman was a total win for me, it was impossible not to completely love Roman. I loved his strong protective nature but that he was also such a total softy when it came to his daughter. One of the best things about Roman was that he was such a feminist, not only did he empower women but he did not hide way from supporting his sister and daughter shine in their own way. I really liked getting to see the relationship that Roman formed with the rest of his crew while trying to find a way to control his feelings for Abby, but gosh these two were just steamy. I loved getting to see them dance around their attraction and that eventual fall.

Up In Smoke is definitely not to be missed, this book was the perfect combination of sweet meet cute swoon mixed in with one steamy romance that will have you hooked right from that first slice of cherry pie!
