REVIEW: Weekend With The Tycoon by Kaira Rouda

In Weekend With The Tycoon (Indigo Island #1) by Kaira Rouda, Samantha loves her job at Blake Genetics. So much that she’s been working on a new idea she’s hoping to pitch to the CEO when the time is right.

Summoned to CEO Blake Putnam’s office one morning out of the blue has her nerves on edge though. When she’s unexpectedly given the chance to go on a business trip with Mr. Putnam over the weekend, she jumps at the opportunity. But as soon as she says yes, she is filled with misgivings and a feeling that something is not quite right. She doesn’t really know what’s going on, and it’s not until they are well on their way that Samantha discovers the truth. Much more than business, Blake needs a date for his sisters wedding. Blake has never moved on from having his heart broken 5 years ago, and decides that he may as well mix business with pleasure over the weekend. Samantha takes this turn of events remarkably well, and is determined to not only remain professional, but to make the most of the situation.

Neither of them expects the attraction that flares between them though…and soon it is impossible to not act on it. Can a weekend get away and romance be anything more than that though? Can either of them risk their heart for more?

Weekend With the Tycoon is a fast paced, fun, heat filled romance! Not only is the novella fast paced, but so is the romance between Samantha and Blake. At times a little unreal, but also at times what dreams are made of! I really liked Blake and Samantha. Weekend With the Tycoon is mostly in the here and now, with only brief references to the past. This works really well with the size and pace of this novella. I didn’t really feel like I got to know Blake and Samantha as much as I’d have liked to though – Kaira makes them very intriguing people I wanted to know more about!

With good flow, a great setting, and a dream weekend and man, I’d recommend Weekend With the Tycoon for romance readers looking for a novella to escape into for a little while.
