When Falcone’s World Stops Turning is the first part of The Blood Brothers trilogy and the story starts with the introduction of the three brothers. Rafaele is an alpha hero who owns a million dollar automobile company. He has his own demons from past but I did not find him too tortured or dark. I could understand his reasons for not believing in love and being ruthless as the story is also written from his point of view.
I had mixed feelings about Sam. Though I liked that she was an independent person with a stable job, she was much too nervous and guilt ridden throughout the story for hiding the ‘big secret’ from Rafaele. She does have a short fling with someone after Rafaele dumps her and some readers might have a problem with the way their affair is depicted.
The story was quite nice and the romance was scorching hot due to the amazing chemistry the main characters shared. The “secret” Sam is hiding is revealed in the second chapter itself and is quite predictable but the blur does not reveal it so I will leave the readers to find that one themselves.
‘You’ve got it wrong,’ he gritted out, jaw tight, seemingly oblivious to what she’d just said. His hand was snaking around her neck under her hair, making her breath catch. His eyes were like green gems. Glittering.
‘Got what wrong?’ she spat out.
‘I didn’t overestimate my desire for control… I overestimated my ability to resist you.’
Overall, When Falcone’s World Stops Turning by Abby Green is a well written romance with an amazing story.
