Wishing For Us: A Danvers Novel by Sydney Landon: After losing her fiancé three years ago, Lydia is slowing coming alive once again. She wants to find the happiness that she once had and that her friends are finding with their significant others. After a crazy night in Vegas, Lydia wakes up only to find herself married to the one man she’s been lusting after for months.
Images exploded in her head as jumbled memories came rushing back to her. Dancing. The taste of his lips. Our tongues tangling. Hands touching. My new husband. Wait, what? Lydia stared at Jacob in dawning horror before looking down at the glittering diamond on her ring finger.
Holy. Fucking. Shit.
“We got married,” she whispered, then promptly staggered over to the bed and dropped down onto it.
Getting hitched is quite a shock to Lydia and she’s fully prepared to immediately go back to her single status. However, Jake isn’t quite ready to head to file for a divorce. Jake is a sexy executive who has been enjoying the single life and frequent work trips. They may have married in haste, but Jake wants them to really think about what they should do instead of following through on a knee-jerk reaction.
Neither were looking for a relationship, much less marriage, but they quickly find that being married is easier than expected. They had been attracted to each other before their impromptu wedding, and now they have the freedom to act on it. They have to work through an awkward transition of learning how to be a couple and actually getting to know each other. While Jake has plenty of drama in his personal life, he finds that Lydia is a constant source of support and brings peace to his life.
He chuckled, shaking his head. “Wow, so romantic, sweetheart. Your words are better than the finest poetry.”
“Would you prefer whipper zipper?” she managed to keep a straight face then dissolved into a fit of laughter.
“You’re going to pay for that at some point, you little minx,” he threatened good-naturedly.
Wishing For Us is entertaining, sexy, and heartwarming book that pulled me in from the very first page. Sydney Landon showcased the strong bonds of family and friendship amongst the characters with plenty of banter. Ms. Landon provided a strong and highly entertaining cast of characters that you would hang out with if you could. Wishing For Us can be read as a standalone book in the Danvers series. Fans of Jill Shalvis, Susan Mallery, and Kristan Higgins will enjoy Wishing For Us.

Sydney Landon—New York Times bestselling author of The One for Me—delivers a new novel of love lost and found in her popular Danvers series.
Since the loss of her fiancé, Lydia Cross has refused to allow herself to feel anything close to love. That is until corporate hotshot Jacob Hay comes to her aid outside of the Danvers International corporate headquarters and captures her attention. Too bad he doesn’t show any signs of reciprocating her feelings.
Things change when, after a rowdy Vegas bachelorette party, she wakes up next to Jacob…as his newly wedded wife! Lydia is stunned, but Jacob seems remarkably calm and isn’t inclined to end their hasty merger. In fact, day by day he gives her everything she’s been missing—especially in bed. Great review! Is it because I don’t see them, but why aren’t there links to vendors? Sometimes – like right now- I would one-click, but I have to go to Amazon instead and sometimes I forget 🙁
Kim
Thanks, Monique! One option would be to click on the Goodreads link and then navigate to the vendor page from there. I know that Goodreads has links for vendors like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, iBooks, etc.
