You Are Mine by Jackie Ashenden had me enthralled from the very beginning.
In You Are Mine, Eva and Zach become a lot closer as secrets come to light. Eva or as Zach calls her “Angel” has to face her past, only she doesn’t want to. She wants to keep the past buried and continue on as she normally does. Eva has been through some tough conditions that no one should ever have to experience. Zach needs her to confront her issues now and stop making fear rule her life. Easier said than done! For 7 years, Zach has been Eva’s safety net. He’s always been there for her but not anymore, unless she makes some concessions.
Zach reeks of dominance and he demands Eva’s submission and more importantly, her trust. Eva’s not some meek little girl. She’s tough yet stubborn and add that with her scary intelligence and you have a force to be reckoned with. The only problem setting her back is her fears. You know how when something bad happens, people try to handle you with kid gloves, yeah, not Zach. He’s done being the gentleman. He wants to own her in every way and make her face her fears.
The way Zach forces Eva to face her past is not going to go over well with everyone. There will be times when you will want to smack him. He has a lot of nerve and his techniques will come off as harsh, but they will be effective. Sometimes I felt like he was trying to break Eva, instead of helping her, but when you read the whole story, pieces fall into place and you will understand his methods a little better.
I didn’t know what to expect since this was my first book by this author, but after reading You Are Mine, I can now add this author to my list of “must-read authors.”
This book isn’t for everyone. You will either love it or you will hate it. It’s not for the faint of heart. It deals with strong situations and it will push your boundaries a little bit.
You Are Mine is a riveting tale that will take you out of your comfort zone and make you face your fears. I enjoyed every second and will continue to read this series.

I love this series! Thanks for your review Jen! Jackie Ashenden is an auto-buy author for me, if this is your first experience with her, I highly recommend you read her ‘Living In..’ series, it’s a fantastic set of 3 (to date) standalone erotic romances with forbidden love affair themes. Seriously, every time I see that Jackie has a new release coming out it’s like Christmas for me.

I like Jackie Ashenden. Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of private club scene books. I prefer her more lighter, flirtier romances such as Falling for Finn. Although I must admit I did enjoy her The Lies We Tell series.
