Spotlight&Giveaway

Hi Helena and welcome to HJ! We’re so excited to chat with you about your new release, A Lie for a Lie!

Down and Dirty Q&A with Author Helena Hunting

1) Coffee or tea?

Coffee with four drops of cream, some milk and agave syrup.

2) Walk on the beach or hiking a mountain?

I’m a flatlander (terrified of heights based on my experience driving up Pikes Peak) so I’m heading to the beach.

3) Comedy or drama?

Drama, actually, action flicks if at all possible.

4) TV or books?

Books over TV every time.

5) Best romance you have read recently?

Angry God by LJ Shen and All the Way by Kendall Ryan

6) Best show you have watched recently?

I just finished watching season 3 of The Handmaid’s Tale. I read the novel when I was in high school and have never forgotten how that story impacted me. Seeing it on the screen reminds me of how fragile freedom can be.

7) Favorite romance trope to read?

Second chance and I love small town romance and marriages of convenience.

8) Favorite romance trope to write?

Enemies to lovers, the tension is always so much fun, and so is the banter.

9) Favorite place to write?

The deck up at my parents cottage is so serene, second place goes to my office.

10) A trait that all of your heroes must have?

Loyalty

11) A setting you want to write about in the future?

I’d love to write a book set in Scotland.

12) A short phrase that sums up your newest release A Lie for a Lie?

The truth is a game changer.

13) Your favorite scene from A Lie for a Lie?

There’s a bathtub scene (sounds dirtier than it is) that will hit readers in all the feels.

14) A song that encapsulates the emotion of A Lie for a Lie?

Bad Liar by Imagine Dragons

15) What’s next?

Book two in the All In series releases in January and I am so excited for Stevie and Bishop’s story!

Thanks for blogging at HJ!

Book Info:

Sometimes I need an escape from the demands, the puck bunnies, and the notoriety that come with being an NHL team captain. I just want to be a normal guy for a few weeks. So when I leave Chicago for some peace and quiet, the last thing I expect is for a gorgeous woman to literally fall into my lap on a flight to Alaska. Even better, she has absolutely no idea who I am.

Lainey is the perfect escape from my life. My plan for seclusion becomes a monthlong sex fest punctuated with domestic bliss. But it ends just as abruptly as it began. When I’m called away on a family emergency, I realize too late that I have no way to contact Lainey.

A year later, a chance encounter throws Lainey and me together again. But I still have a lie hanging over my head, and Lainey’s keeping secrets of her own. With more than lust at stake, the truth may be our game changer.

  1. Pamela Conway

Immortal Born by Lynsay Sands & Wrapped Up In You by Jill Shalvis

  2. Sue Galuska

Twice in a Blue Moon by Christina Lauren because it had such wonderfully, flawed characters who have a second chance at love.

  3. Kim

I’m going to go with a series and say the Dynasties: Secrets of the A-List series from Harlequin

  4. eawells

It’s really hard to pick a favorite but I’m going with Coming Home to the Cowboy by Megan Ryder

this looks and sounds fabulous! I’d have to go with Act Like It by Lucy Parker 🙂 thanks for sharing!

  6. Jennifer Beyer

Virginal Headlines by Candace Knoebel is my last 5 star romance read.

  7. Anita H.

Hands down, Sarah Maclean’s Wicked and the Wallflower. She just has a way of writing that makes me love her books already but this one had all the feels for me.

  8. Kathleen Bylsma

I’ve read so many but for some reason lately, “Tru Blue” by Melissa Foster has been top of mind.
