Spotlight&Giveaway

Hi Jill and welcome to HJ! We’re so excited to chat with you about your new release, As Long As It Takes!

Hello HJ and hello to all the HEA lovers!

Please summarize the book for the readers here:

I’m so happy to be here! As Long As It Takes is about a rather stubborn researcher who needs to get her Italian citizenship in order to qualify for a research grant and the slightly-anxious, very capable, super adorable mayor of that town who will try to help her while trying not fall in love with her. Add lots of summer vibes, interesting residents, delicious food, plus a few laughs as well as tears. It’s a fun ride!

Please share your favorite line(s) or quote from this book:

This one comes from Lora’s best friend Vilmari at the beginning of the book: “Listen, I’m not trying to set you up or anything, but you know what? He’s cute. And you’re single as hell. So, why don’t you make this trip a little fun and go ahead and get your documents stamped.”

Please share a few Fun facts about this book…

The town of Baia Santa is based on a small town where I live here in Liguria. Lots of the issues that come up with Lora getting her citizenship are true. Italians love cowboy culture for real! And they really do know all the words to “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” Plus, I’m the one who drives the 30-year old Panda which features prominently in the book. Best car ever!!

What first attracts your Hero to the Heroine and vice versa?

I think Lora is attracted to Andrea’s honesty, integrity, and kindness. And Andrea is attracted to Lora’s passion and dedication. Aside from this, they’re both hot!

Did any scene have you blushing, crying or laughing while writing it? And Why?

Oh my, yes! I cried so much while writing one scene in particular that I can not reveal without spoiling the story, but let’s say it involves an armchair. And blushing, well I do a lot of that when writing sex scenes. Andrea is quite decisive when he knows what he wants!

Readers should read this book….

Readers should read this book if they want to take a trip to Italy and fall in love! Since I live here, you can rest assured that I am giving readers an authentic depiction of small town, seaside life in Liguria.

What are you currently working on? What other releases do you have in the works?

I am working on another romance, of course! This time I will bring readers to another part of Italy that I love so much. Expect more food, fun, local culture, and kissing!

Thanks for blogging at HJ!

Book Info:

Love isn’t exactly a priority for Lora Brooks. After all, her last break-up made it perfectly clear that she can’t rely on anyone but herself. That’s why Lora’s number one focus is her research, where she’s hard at work debunking Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. But when she’s offered a prestigious post-doctoral position in Zurich―one whose funding hinges on her having European citizenship―everything changes.

Hoping to claim citizenship through her birth father, Lora and her best friend travel to the quaint Italian town where he was born. She knows little about her father (and intends to keep it that way) but nothing, not even the ghosts of her past, will stand between Lora and this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Except, perhaps, Italian bureaucracy. And an outdated filing system. And Andrea, the handsome―and slightly anxious―mayor.

Andrea’s plate may be more than full, but in between trying to increase tourism, wrangling quirky business-owners, and debating whether to run for a second term, he somehow finds the time to show Lora what it really means to live, and perhaps love, like a local. Lora is destined for a future hundreds of miles away and Andrea’s parents are pushing him to return to his fast-paced life in New York, but will they discover that their most basic need is actually just…each other?
