Today it is my pleasure to Welcome author Kat Hillis & Rosiee Thor to HJ!

Hi Kat & Rosiee and welcome to HJ! We’re so excited to chat with you about your new release, Dead & Breakfast!
Your friendly neighborhood vampires are here to welcome you to the Dead & Breakfast!
Please summarize the book for the readers here:

Please share your favorite line(s) or quote from this book:
“We’re married, Sal. I think I’m past trying to woo you.”
“Like us, my dear, the romance never has to die.”
Please share a few Fun facts about this book…
While writing, we would text each other memes and joke ideas at random hours–more than once Kat woke to an unhinged pun in her DMs from Rosiee. On one memorable occasion, Rosiee leapt out of the shower to send a joke, despite the shampoo still in their hair (and then, inevitably, in their eyes).
What first attracts your Hero to the Heroine and vice versa?
When Arthur first met Salvatore in a vampire club in the 1950s, Sal offered Arthur eternal life together. Arthur passed, but accidentally got turned into a vampire anyway. Once Arthur looked past Sal’s unserious exterior, he saw a passionate and loyal person who would always keep undeath interesting.
Did any scene have you blushing, crying or laughing while writing it? And Why?
When we were establishing the vampire lore for this book, we decided it didn’t make sense for Catholic/Christian iconography to be the only religious symbols that repelled vampires. Not all vampires are Catholic, and ours certainly aren’t. Arthur was raised Jewish, and Sal has converted to Unitarian Universalist, which had some interesting results… We think this snippet from chapter one should give you the jist:
At first, Arthur had thought Sal’s conversion was the least logical move possible. Vampires, after all, were weakened by holy symbols of their faith, and Unitarian Universalist encompassed so many beliefs. But, as it turned out, their nondenominational leanings meant Salvatore was exempt from almost all holy safeguards against vampires and could walk through life unafraid of religious iconography. He had only one weakness: the Coexist bumper sticker.
Readers should read this book….
If they love puns, shenanigans, and murder mysteries.
What are you currently working on? What other releases do you have in the works?

Book Info:
The new vampires in town are sinking their teeth into solving a murder…
Married odd couple Arthur and Sal are totally normal. They wear sunscreen, not because the sun can kill them, but because even the undead need a skincare regimen. They eat garlic whenever they want, though it gives Sal indigestion. They can talk to creatures of the night, but only the raccoons that rifle through their garbage. Really, they don’t bite… except into delicious baked goods.
Ready to settle down and stay out of trouble, the two have opened a bed & breakfast in the idyllic, if not-so-paranormal-friendly, town of Trident Falls, Oregon. But trouble finds them when the mayor is discovered dead in their begonias with two puncture wounds in his neck. With the help of a werewolf barista, the elven town coroner, and a very human city manager, Arthur and Sal will need to prove they aren’t literally out for blood by catching a killer…
