Today it is my pleasure to Welcome author Mira Lyn Kelly to HJ!
Hi Mira and welcome to HJ! We’re so excited to chat with you about your new release, Decoy Date!
Please summarize the book for the readers here:
Hey guys, I’m super excited to be here with you celebrating the release of DECOY DATE, book four in the Wedding Date series of Standalone romances! And today, I’ll be sharing three fun facts about the story with you…
- I’ve been in love with Brody from the start of the series…
What can I say, this guy is built larger than life, has sexy Irish curls as wild as he is, and would put his friends before himself without a second thought. It was TORTURE having to wait to write Brody’s book, but at the same time it really let me get to know him as a character… and maybe keep him for myself just a little longer lol!! - Gwen wrecked everything…
When I first started sketching out the series, I had a pretty clear idea of who Gwen was going to be when Brody found her, what they’re courtship was going to look like. I had a plan that, until I started executing it, was perfect lol. Only once I started putting these two down on paper, this fragile, heartbroken damsel in distress I’d been plotting… basically exploded off the page as this confident, vivacious, woman… with one weak-spot in her life and a commitment not to let it slow her down. It was like she started writing herself and I couldn’t help but get swept away by the new direction the story took. And fyi… Brody and Gwen’s story has become one of my very favorites! - This book made me cry…
Okay, it’s not totally uncommon for me to cry when I’m writing a particularly emotional scene or when the story comes together in a way I love to much that I’m suddenly overwhelmed my it (Yes, Mira is a squishy marshmallow lol!!), but this one made me cry for another reason. It made me cry because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye! While all the books in the Wedding Date series are standalones, they center around a tight knit group of friends that have settled deep in my heart and feel as real to me as any characters I’ve ever written. I’ve struggled with them… laughed and cried with them… and learned to love in new ways with them through every story. Sigh… And I’m going to miss being able to spend time with them the way I have over these past couple years. But even though it’s hard for me to say goodbye, I couldn’t be happier to be able to share all of them with you!!
And who knows… maybe I’ll find a way to drop in on my favorite best men and women that brought them to their knees from time to time in future projects… in fact I’m sure I will ☺
Thanks for blogging at HJ!

Book Info:
Fake relationship. Real feelings. Big problems.
Brody O’Donnel doesn’t believe in happily-ever-afters—at least, not for himself. But he wants the best for his vivacious, beautiful friend Gwen Danes, and he’s tired of watching her pine for a clueless man. Figuring a little bit of jealousy will motivate the guy, Brody proposes a fake relationship. It’s an outrageous plan, but Gwen figures there’s no harm in it—until they share a passionate kiss she never saw coming.
Suddenly, Gwen’s fighting a growing attraction to a man she knows she can’t have. After all, he’s just faking it…isn’t he?

Characters in books, as people in life, often get into situations where they learn that things aren’t quite what they thought. Often, if they are lucky, they find something unexpected that is so much more than they could have wished.
I hope you have a wonderful Holiday Season and a great 2019.

Hi Mira! Would you someday write stories for the Wedding Date series: The Next Generation where we get to meet the kids of all the best men and their wives?
