Hi Tarah and welcome to HJ! We’re so excited to chat with you about your new release, Lost and Found!

Please summarize the book for the readers here:

Bea Marshall lost her best friend and found out she was willed that friends eggs not long after. Now, a year into her grief journey, Bea is ready to bring a piece of her friend back into the world, but could use some support. In steps Silas Byrd, a firefighter and longtime friend who is recovering from his own life-altering experience; an accident that has left him physically and emotionally scarred. Silas offers Bea a place to stay while she undergoes IVF, and they agree to lean on one another for a time. Forced proximity stirs up past feelings and memories and forges something new between them, though . . . something that feels like a new beginning for them both.

Please share a few Fun facts about this book…

“Lost and Found” has been on my proposed title list for each book in this series. All of the characters have been a bit lost, and all of them have found themselves with some help. I’m happy it wasn’t chosen for Savor It or Left of Forever, previously, because it truly is perfect for this story.

What first attracts your Hero to the Heroine and vice versa?

Both Silas and Bea are extroverted introverts. Outwardly they seem very confident and downright flirty, but there is quite a bit brewing beneath the surface. They recognize that in each other and both carry the same brand of quiet determination when it comes to moving through life in the face of tragedy.

Did any scene have you blushing, crying or laughing while writing it? And Why?

Their first kiss is my favorite I have ever written. There’s a mildly forbidden element to this whole night in particular that I find angsty and exciting, but leading up to it is some truly fun, natural, delicious banter, too.
I don’t want to give too much away, but, “Is that your heart or mine? Bea. Bea. Bea,” was a thrill to write.

Readers should read this book….

If they are interested in love stories that can hold hands with grief. If they like to see female friendships that are imperfect and no less meaningful for it. And if they fully accept and support the idea that what a woman wants to do with her body is her choice. Bea’s decision to undergo IVF and her desire to have a baby she would not be biologically connected to might not feel natural to some people, but I have always believed that family can be even stronger when it’s built on the foundation of choice.

What are you currently working on? What other releases do you have in the works?

My debut novel, Rootbound, is getting re-released next April! Beyond that I am working on projects I am giddy about but can’t quite talk about yet.
